I’d like to see our entrance timed up a little better. Always seems like everyone is all pumped up and the there’s like 45 seconds of the team just standing there waiting. I’d like to see it be fluid and right when the last N hits the cannon fires. It just loses steam imo.

I mean you may think it’s cool to watch the team just stand there for minute and a half waiting, but I think it kills the energy. Say what you want, but South Carolina’s entrance has surpassed ours because of the upgrades and they have the timing down. Calm down boomer.

You may think that, but I’m sure recruits love it. Their new light show is great and as stupid as it is, sandstorm is high energy and pretty impressive when you sit in the stands. I can take my orange glasses off and admit when they are doing something better than we are.

Have you not seen their light show? It’s evolved to more than fire extinguishers and a chicken in a plastic cage. Realistically it’s probably one of the highest energy entrances in college football now if you choose to admit it or not. Now, them playing at 7pm every week definitely helped the atmosphere.

I tell you the only thing those stupid light shows do is annoy the crap out of me. Be glad when that phase passes. If you seriously don’t have energy based on who you are playing it won’t come from a ribbon of LED lights. But you do you, Clark Griswold.

So, coots entrance is impressive when you sit in the stands? Sounds like you have practice doing this. Can only think a Clemson fan would have to sit through: a fake Ric Flair entrance, followed by a tranny rooster behind a shower curtain, then mind numbing techno accompanied by surrender flags, ONLY ONCE every two years. Don’t get me started on celebrating 1st Downs!

So what you're saying is to strike up the band as soon as the first bus rounds the corner from Avenue of Champions onto Williamson Road instead of waiting until the team is all gathered together at the top of The Hill. I believe that's exactly what we used to do many years ago. Not sure why it changed. Maybe the players need to get their legs good and under them after the long bus ride around the stadium or they like to hear The Orange Bowl March in it's entirety.

Yes, just better timed so it’s like boom and boom and not that awkward standing around. Especially since the hill can only be half full now. There’s just no energy with the standing around waiting

Yes, it used to be much more exciting. Now seems like such a let down especially without the balloons and an empty hill. Then they start skipping down the hill 2 wide. Definitely not the most exciting 25 seconds anymore.

The sound technicians may want to look into helping amplify the band's Orange Bowl March, or as it's also cool subtitle is known - Sock It To 'Em! It's an absolute classic for gameday and our entrance and isn't going anywhere hopefully. The piped in music is pretty loud so that one could use an audio boost to better transition. Tiger Rag needs no amps. It's a full on stadium wide phenomenon.

I see your point. I still miss the bull rush down the hill. There was so much energy there. When they came down, you’d better have your tail out of the way! Still love the hill entrance but it looks more like a part of a production. Go down the hill when TV says to fire the cannon.

Ok....I agree on the first post re timing the entrance better but I DO NOT agree with your assessment of the Coots entrance being superior! That is laughable.
But, to your OP, you are correct. The Boulware video gets things juiced up, We Will Rock You keeps it going and amps it up more, the video of the busses coming around takes it higher, Dabo jumping off and rubbing the rock - things are still rockin! And then...it crashes down. The band begins and it is so much quieter, people try and clap to the Orange Bowl march and its never in unison and we all stare at Dabo on the hill clapping his hands and awkwardly waiting for the cannon to sound. It is so close to being incredible with the new song and board! Just needs some tweaking.

This was a very unusual post for a ‘Clemson Man’ to make but little surprises me today. All schools have their own moments that they think are great. Especially so regarding the entrance to the playing field. Some real Clemson fans object to the “We will rock you” entrance ... for some reason. I am extremely biased but I personally can’t imagine a greater entrance by the team to the playing field than the one I see every home game in the valley! Seeing the team gather at “the rock” has NO equal in college sports.
I hope that I never see The Clemson Tigers become just another football team. It likely will not be very long before the fans protest for not wearing prissy pink uniforms and shiny hats.
This game coming up Saturday is what college football is ALL about. I’ll be in the cheap seats in DV, Look for me. I’ll be the one wearing orange.

I agree re the idea the Coots entrance is better, but I think totally fair on the first point. Not sure why that post (the original one) would be unusual for a Clemson man.

I'm kind of wondering why they haven't created a mix to where we can just pipe in the Orange Bowl March if boosting the on field band volume isn't an option.
I remember the first time I watched on TV I said a similar thing...that extra juice from the players getting off the bus is sucked away when your audience can't tell what's going on because it just seems like they are standing there.

I told Bob (the guy who got me the tickets and was, along with his brother and several others, a wonderful host) immediately after the run down the hill, "That was worth the trip up here."
The whole ritual from leaving the locker room to throwing the all-in chips in to the bus ride to standing at the top of the hill to running down the hill is fantastic.

Coots. Get the fire shooters, a chicken in a shower cage, white towels for the fans. All very doable. Nothing unique and can be bought. What no one else has is a freakin rock and a hill to run down. That is unique and no one else has it. It really can’t be duplicated. Any school can do those other things.

I feel like some of you are missing my point. I’m not saying our entrance sucks, or needs to be changed. I’m saying id like to see the timing adjusted so the canon fires right after the video and then Tiger Rag starts. TD me all you want, I really don’t give a ####, it’s just my opinion. Everyone can say what they want about Willy B, but that atmosphere on TV at the start of the game was electric and I think 99% of America outside of Clemson, SC would agree with me. They can plaster it all over their message boards, their team still sucks and their stadium and atmosphere after the first 5 minutes of the game are B rated.
