Actors/actresses, who I don't even know, doing commercials thanking doctors, nurses, etc. I thanked them before now.
"(insert name here) STRONG"
Everyone's a hero. WALMART workers? Really?
Actors/actresses/athletes announcing donations to fight the COVID cause. Do it quietly, or you are a clanging cymbal.
Being told how much we are suffering.

taking advantage of an opportunity to garner rewards now, & in the future.
I imagine those in essential capacities truly appreciate the notice, thanks & well wishes? They're out there e'ry day, dealing with the public, afflicted & not, but likely wondering who might be a carrier?
I'm OK with applauding all who leave home on the daily to make my few needed forays into the world happen.

I'm reminded of an old Simpsons spoof on we are the world where they said something about Hollywood, who normally steers clear of fashionable causes getting on board. It was pretty funny. And why does each celeb thinks we need to see a tweet on their feelings about some other celeb or what they had to eat

and other grocery store workers.
These people place themselves in very vulnerable positions by coming into close contact with the general public everyday handling cash, answering questions, and bagging groceries to help make sure people have food and other essential items. Similar to healthcare workers, delivery people, and postal workers, they are providing a vital service to the community.
If you don't think it's important, try managing it without them.

I genuinely appreciate what they do but the point of the OP is not to elevate them to hero status. I’m a combat veteran and I don’t even want to wear that title because I’m not a hero. I was just another guy doing his job. Those guys are getting up and going to work just like I did this morning. The word hero is thrown around very loosely today. The doctors and nurses right now yes. A Walmart worker? No

Folks trying to make others feel better in a situation

those hourlies were never, ever trained to manage. Not remotely.
You were trained for combat - in, out, sideways, top, bottom, in better, and in far, far worse. I can not thank you enough for that service, whether you want to wear that title or not. It's my choice, not yours, but I also get duty, honor, integrity, which you are wearing well in this situation.
If that's what they want to call the hourlies, they can have at it, and I'll continue to appreciate what those that make the magic happen on the daily are doing.
I'm not a fan of fanboys & fangirls for what-it's-worth; someone that puts a ball in a hole or other, is just that and no more.
You & yours stay well, CootSmackdown16®.

I agree, however, slapping one's self on the back in public is giving for the wrong reason. If you have to be recognized for doing a good deed, you need to rethink why you did it.

and govmnt officials) saying "We're all in this equally." WE"RE NOT!!
They are not the out of work restaurant equipment salesman. They are not the local Tae Kwon Do school owner. They are not the local barber.
They have reserves a-plently and can make rent and the next power bill. Their jobs will still be there.
Truth is, we are not all in this equally. The virus pandemicpanic is affecting some much more than others.
We all may be trying to provide help and solutions, but it certainly isn't equal in scale across the population.
But we live in a world of platitudes.

yep the one time they should be working together and there is infighting and one upmanship between the parties. Very little use for any legislators due to this. What gets me about the US Congress is almost anything they pass in law they exempt themselves from except health insurance where they give themselves a gold plated package none of us get.

Just trying to find people celebrating

[ in reply to No, I do not admit that. ] |

...so that I can be rightfully outraged. So far you haven't produced any.
Is there a paper somebody has posted? Opinion article? Email? Overheard conversation in line at the grocery store? CNN interview? MSNBC hit piece? Anarchists private chat? Anything other than 'people are doing it, but not publicly'.
I get that people see this as an opportunity to get Trump out of office, but I haven't seen anybody celebrating the economic troubles or job loss.

I’m not saying I want old people to die. I’m saying we need to reopen the economy because younger people shouldn’t have to suffer because of the virus. Old people can stay at home until a cure is found.
Also saying that if you didn’t want to stock shelves and serve fast food in a pandemic then you should have studied harder in school.
In America it’s every man for himself. If you don’t like it then go to a Canada with the rest of the Socialists.

people like Pelosi and Schumer and their ilk will absolutely politicize this issue.
We have the best economy in modern history. More people are working and we are not at war. So leave it to the the Dems and the mainstream media to create nationwide panic in an attempt to discredit Trump.
The virus is an invisible enemy. Loved ones have died and countless others are sick and the Democratic party and their “puppet masters”, the mainstream media, are and will continue to use this virus to create panic, hurt our economy, and President Trump.
In our lifetime, we have experienced measles outbreaks, SARS, Bird flu, Ebola, HIV, legionnaires’ disease and of course the 2009 swine flu that killed 19,000 Americans under the Obama administration. Where was the failing Democrats party and the mainstream media then?

All the people being killed off are mostly old. The economy will recover as soon as we open the economy. If the old are scared, let them stay home. I’m with trump. This virus is sensationalized.

Amen brother!!! People need to realize this is a dog eat dog world. Don’t like your dangerous job that exposes you to the virus? Quit your job. It’s not my fault you didn’t get a real degree. We need to open the economy back up ASAP. Old will die. It’s the way it’s just going to have to turn out.
