Don’t know many of the players anymore or don’t know the pathway for either of these teams but who’s the best player/players? It seems like two teams with limited star power. I’ve heard of the SGA guy and he seems alright but is that it for star power in this game? I’m trying to figure who “ the guy” is….
We didn’t know how good we had it back in Magic/bird, bad boys of Detroit and Jordan Pippen days. There were multiple stars on those teams, they gelled and they played hard. This just looks like a bunch of dudes bricking open jumpers. No dominant big man,.. I’m just out of touch I guess.

I think the average player is way better than they were 20-30yrs ago so players have to be insane athletes to shine. Not to say Jordon/Pippen were not great but they likely wouldn't dominate the court in today's game.

Plus, and I think this is big part, players are overpaid and they dont have to work to get paid. The contracts have become absurd. Basically if you get past your draft contract, players will make 10's-100's of millions. No need to work hard if you can retire at 25. Players used to work hard for their multi-million $$$ contracts.

They have to be apple to shoot nowadays. I think Jordan would still dominate today without question. Larry Bird would be amazing. Magic wouldn't be as big of a deal.

You think these guys are better? These guys are pretty vanilla.

This reminds me an Olympic game between Greece and Germany. It’s great if you just like to watch basketball but very bland and makes me question if the rest of the NBA is just as bland. If these are the two best then the answer to that question is yes. I would assume sone of the bigger teams had a bad series and got bumped early. Jordan and Pippen if in the same era would also dominate this era. That’s a wild take to think they would be average or be less dominant. I don’t think I ever saw a playoff game where Jordan didn’t score 30+ and dominate defensively.

Didnt say they would be average, definitely not, but they would not be the same level of dominance. I do think that era of bball, the good players played way harder than the lazy players of today. On average, every team is better than they were yrs ago therefore you dont see absolute dominance but they are lazy and soft. Top players are continuously injured nowadays as they don't need the next contract because the one they are on is over $100m.

I have watched very little nba the last 10yrs because of their lazy play. If the players were only making what players made 20yrs ago but could elevate with great play, the whole competition would be better.
