Athletic Department needs to do some soul-searching

In the course of 5-10 years, we've let control of the SC rivalry slip away.
*FB: went from an iron grip to start the decade to losing the last 5.
*Baseball: speaks for itself since Ray Tanner was hired by the coots. this weekend was a #### disaster.
*WBB, MSoccer, and WSoccer have more or less been getting it handed to them the past several years. Alot of that matches up with downward trends that each program had or is currently going through
*MTennis: historically has been behind the coots.
Think MBB and WTennis are the only two sports that have started to reverse their fortunes in the past 10 or so years against our neighbors in Columbia.
The other year when Dabo stated in the interview that the university in South Carolina is and always will be Clemson, I wholeheartedly believed that. But the athletic department, the school, and (most importantly) the coaches and young men/women that wear 'Clemson' across their uniforms need to change this current trend or else Dabo's words from 2011 will turn into fading echo as SC continues to take away the banner of state pride and bragging rights.

1889 as an academic institution.
The whole academics vs. athletics BS is another TigerNet white whale that started when we didn't let Dwight Jones into Clemson--because he had like an 800 SAT score. When he went to UNC all the TigerNet geniuses tried to point to that as why we should've let him in. I think history has vindicated that decision...

saying you can't have success in athletics without sacrificing academics is a cop-out.
it's about having some pride, saying enough's enough, and start taking it to the coots again to win state bragging rights just like we would if it was florida state on the opposing sideline/dugout/bench/etc with an ACC title on the line. you think ohio state football would be satisfied with a B10 title while having lost to michigan during the season? you think duke basketball would be happy with a final four run only to get knocked out by unc in the semis, & then turn around and watch them win the ncaa title? no, they would not. yet that's what's happening to us in our rivalry with SC.
