Kinda like Bama does with other SEC teams. Clemson is still establishing this with opponents, so thats why we sometimes still get a team's best shot.

Syracuse QB was hurt. ND is better this year. So both statements are true.
When we played Syracuse we had a lot of turmoil. we were down to 3rd string QB.
Watched a bit of that game today and ND was very efficient. Syracuse ran the ball well but they had to try the hurry up thing and ND was ready. Syracuse backup threw a lot of deep balls, missing a few td passes. ND kicked a bunch of FG.
ND won the game on 3rd downs, they always seemed to have the right play call.
Having said that I think we’d spank ND in playoff.
