If you want to know how to make Omaha

Watch the pitching from LSU and Arkansas yesterday.

Arkansas 1st round starter zack root pulled in 3rd inning after going down 3-0 early.

A move Bakich wouldn’t have made, and didn’t make against West Virginia. He trusted the “role” he had assigned Knaak

Arkansas reliever Gabe Gaeckle came in, threw 80 pitches and 10 strikeouts, no runs. Was absolutely lock down and filthy.

LSU starter Kade Anderson, 7th overall MLB prospect, went 7 innings with 7 strikeouts and allowed 1 run.

Anderson was taken out with a 4-1 lead in the 8th, and some guy comes in throwing 101 mph.

These 2 lineups are top-3 talent and ability wise,in the country, and the pitching overwhelmed that factor.

Pitching gets you further.

Don’t just get good transfer and recruit pitchers, get the best ones.

Until then, I’ll know what to expect.

No, we need at least 6 of those. One starter for each weekend series game and then a reliever for each game that's just as good to come in when the starter doesn't have his best stuff. A pitcher can only pitch in one game per weekend, and we should have the best in all of them. I can't understand why Bakich doesn't just try this.

Idk either. I mean, EB should be able to just snap his finger and get all the elite pitchers he wants, then let the other teams pick up the scraps. We are Clemson - we are everybody’s 1st choice, and $ is not a problem.

Yes, I know what you're saying. Yes, we all know that little Rock took lsu to the brink and could have won the regional. That's besides the point. The talent up and down the roster are on a different level than any talent we have, including Cam. The shortstop on each team was a different level than ciufo. And ciufo is a good player.

I've always said, it's the Jimmy and Joe's. No EB can't just snap his fingers and make them come to Clemson... but he was hired to do just that. I'm still hoping he will. But to date, the talent is less than Monte brought in. Monte had talent, he just couldn't coach.

College baseball and all college sports are just not the same as they were four years ago. Jimmys and Joes are very important, as is coaching and coaching baseball has not changed and coaches will always be criticized for their decisions. However, the job of being a college coach, and dealing with scholarships, NIL, the portal, and roster management in general has changed. Some coaches have adapted faster than others ...... especially the ones that were already with full scholarship rosters .... like Vanderbilt. I know EB is an excellent coach and as he gets used to "new" college athletics, I think the future is bright.

Bring in who exactly? Who out of our bullpen was going to come in and mow hitters down? Maybe Bakich was aware that his options weren’t great so stick with the ace.

Both LSU and Arkansas had power after power arm to bring in throwing 95,96,97, and even 100. You don’t have have all power arms but you must have more than we have . We don’t really have 1 single power arm that can top 95 consistently . Bakich has signed some portal help this year but really no pitching help even close to what we saw last nite .

Your are correct but finding good pitchers is very, very hard. All the MLB teams are scouting high school and college star pitchers and every college is looking for the leftovers so finding and keeping a really good pitchers is just tough. There are college level infielders and outfielders under every rock but really good pitchers are valuable assets in short supply.

Don’t forget Coastal has them also . UNC has them , Louisville , FSU, etc. NO excuse for Clemson not having some big time pitchers . Bakich so far has not shown that his staff can develop any pitching either .

We could schedule a home and home in the regular season against Univ. Of Nebraska-Omaha if we want to play in Omaha again.

I don’t think there’s any reason to be patient changing coaches.

Clemson has been patient enough, for 15 years.

Is this positivity thing with Bakich wanting to be like Leggett is a mystery to me. The idea of being overly positive is good. But, there’s something.

Brilliant! Great pitching is needed to win at the highest level.
