3 Potter FGs from 40+ yards. We give up a safety backed up on our own goal line. The play is the funniest ever seen. There are 7 seconds left in the game and it's fourth down. In a "safety rooskie play", DJ takes the snap from under center, hides it under a squatting Will Taylor, who runs right, passes it back over to DJ in the back of the EZ, who runs all over, but then oddly runs out of bounds - with one second left.
So we kick the ball to NC State, they play rugby lateral, run back almost to the our two with the band running on to the field (yes, a band member gets knocked down, a tuba player).
When asked about the play after, TE and Dabo both say:
"we've always done it this way, why change? I mean, we w-o-o-n the game."

If the defense keeps them out of the end zone they get 3 field goals and Clemson wins a 10-9 type game. If Clemson ever trails, and needs a late touchdown to win, Clemson loses. We need 3 scores, and then give them no chance for a touchdown and 2 point conversion like Tech had late to send the game into OT. OT the game favors State.( home field and momentum). And I took off my orange shades to give you this.

Difficult to predict a Clemson score now that we are so weak at the quarterback position! I keep hoping the offensive coaches will develop a game plan that might allow the Tigers to score.

I would just say “Here is a chance for Clemson to prove they are on Mississippi State’s level.” Kind of sad, isn’t it? Especially when I get the feeling we may not be able to measure up to that.

14-10 NC State wins. Our defense is really good but really beat up from playing for 16 straight hours last Saturday. The offense manages to score one TD and is on the way to scoring another but gets stopped on 3rd and 1 by running a QB sneak out of the shotgun. Elliot then decides to take the FG with 15 seconds left in the game in hopes of recovering the onside kick, which we don't do. In the post game Elliot admits the defense ran a scheme they had not seen before and rather than put the players in an uncomfortable situation took the FG.

You really think Elliott gets to make that call? It's getting crazy in here.

The best part is.. the only part of that prediction you have a problem with is Elliot making the FG call. That says all anyone needs to know about the state of the offense.

Past performance (previous seasons) actually has quite a bit of predictive value - particularly early in the year. It generally gets phased out or at least weighted less and less as the season progresses.

Well, are we still including NC State's reputation?
I mean, I don't think there is a team as consistently "meh" in the history of college football. They are not "extremely bad" (say like Duke or Coots) and they are never "great", just "meh".

I can’t begin to predict as it’s been so odd it’s just not realistic to base performance this week from any other week. No clue what offense we see this week. Defense, however, will remain stout.

Tigers still have the better roster.
17 - 6 Tigers.
Defense scores or sets up a ridiculous short field for 10 of those points.
