Multiple tournament wins and probably a couple of runs to the sweet 16 or elite 8? You do realize that Purnell has never won an NCAA Tournament game, don't you? Multiple schools. Multiple times being the higher seeded team. Zero wins.
He's a good coach. He builds programs. He doesn't build winners who make NCAA tournament runs.

But only to hear the OPP song at games again. I think he could be successful with a slight tweak to his system so his teams would not be so tired out at the end of the game. It's hard when your in the ACC and playing down most of the time.

The Tigers are playing very good basketball for about 35 minutes a game. I can see that number continuing to go up No one takes the Tigers lightly now. Even the powerful tar holes know that. When Clemson comes to town they know they will have to play the first stringers for most of the game. Bi can't recall that EVER happening

If UNC basketball had the same problem Swofford would just find a way to reduce all ACC games to 35 min. Feel like we need someone who could involve the notable basketball Alumni a lot more.

how such a successful regular season coach could take those teams into the postseason and fail to win even one...against double digit seeds...and the losses got worse every time...that Mizzu game we got run out of the gym...that 08 team not getting at least ONE is an utter travesty...Take all the shots at Brad you want, God knows he'll never assemble a team that good with that depth, but OP squandered it...completely squandered it

Brownell's "successes"... OP was more successful than Brownell, period. There are no numbers, either RPI, SOS, KenPom, etc... to suggest otherwise.
I am under no illusion of OP's shortcomings. He was definitely not the "messiah".... so don't play that card.
What he did was bring excitement to Clemson basketball.... win games... get us to the NCAAT and an ACCTCG. People seem to glaze over that when they talk about the "overachieving" Brownell is doing.
