If we had more coaches with D1/P5 coaching experience

Would we recruit better in the NIL era? I do believe this is probably an undeniable, Yes!

I do think its time for the coaching experiments to stop and bring in D1 coaches that have experience in this new NIL and TP era. I think D1 coaches will understand the pulse of the team better than coaches with zero D1 experience, especially if Dabo brought in coaches that have been exposed to NIL and TP outside of Clemson.

That said, we would have a major overhaul but why not? There are probably zero staffs sitting in our era with zero D1 coaching experience.

Wes G - zero DC experience, actually no defensive position coaching which I think tells in the LBs. No past LB coaching.

Mickey Conn - Safeties, no D1 coaching. Good HS but I think Reed should take over Safeties as they have been a puzzle.

Kyle Richardson - Good HS coach, no D1 coaching. TE coach plus the passing game coordinator just not sure that translates as the WR coach should have that role.

Grisham - No D1 coaching but NFL experience. His coaching has been questioned and as Recruiting Coordinator for few yrs, we are not top 10 now. WR's have had less than stellar seasons and Stellato questions development.

Spiller - No D1 coaching, his recruiting has been subpar. After seeing Mafah playing at half capacity and not giving 100%, I have to question decions. Spiller should know that you can't play injured as he had Turf Toe and knows he wasn't 100%, but I think he had more passion. RB coaching needs upgrade.

SPECIAL TEAMS- WELL YEAH! Our punting stinks, our blocking stinks. Gunn for kickoffs is fine and Hauser will be a stud as he is the best rated HS kicker ever at Clemson. He just needs blocking and a little faster kick.

I say give Reed all the DBs, move Conn and hire a ST coach. Let's get a LB coach at the same time.

Ok, I am not bashing our coaches but I do think its time for upgrades to personnel that has P5 experience and Dabo can give the existing guys analyst positions or he can give recommendations. I think this is what most fans would like to see which would prove Dabo is taking this coaching as serious as he did 6yrs ago. Recruiting needs an upgrade.

Lets go Tigers!

I think we probably matched or exceeded most fans goals minus beating Coots although a lot of Tnetter whiners would not admit that as they like bashing Dabo or trolling. Don't get me wrong, I am 100% All-in for Dabo, and I can understand the philosophy of paying those who want to grow with Clemson, but I also feel like its time for experiments with staff ends and let's go get experienced coaches. I am fine with Riley, Luke, and all not mentioned in OP. But let's get back to recruiting top coaches so we can recruit top players.

Some won't like this post, but at end of day, Dabo bragging that we have 30+ former Clemson grads on staff, doesn't facilitate the need for experience. As schools go All-in financially, Dabo needs to go All-in with Staff if he wants to be the developmental school and not the bidding war school.

Love Dabo but our recruiting class should be very alarming. I said at start of season, I am fine with not using portal but Dabo better bring in Top 5 classes if he wants to compete. Development and Top 5 class seems to be eluding Dabo currently.

Very alarming the last four years yet very few seem to be able to take their orange glasses enough to see them……..or they’re blinded by Dabos light being shined in their eyes. Things have happened in stages that have been blatantly obvious and now it’s trickled down to the recruiting.

Thing have happened all in progression but many fans have been too blind to see it.

Are you serious? Let’s say that Michigan offers our DB commit $400k at signing and $250k per year. Our coaches then show the commit their resume without matching the offer and the commit is so blown away by the lengthy CV that they sign with Clemson. Seems a little far fetched to me.

We need more coaches who have been exposed to toilet paper?

Weird take, bro.
