Crazy playoff scenario. Okie St loses one more game.

Nov 17, 2015, 10:37 AM

Which is very likely. (Baylor or Oklahoma)

Clemson loses really close to UNC.

1. Bama
2. Undefeated Big 10 (OSU/Iowa)
3.???
4.???

Do you put ND in who didnt have to play game 13 conf championship and who lost to Clemson?

UNC would have the best win, Clemson, but didn't play anyone else and had a TERRIBLE loss.

Clemson had the "best loss" and "best win" combination but didn't even actually win the ACC.

Oklahoma didn't have to play game 13 conf championship and TERRIBLE loss to Texas.

Carolina would go over us, but I'm not sure they would make the cut.

Nov 17, 2015, 10:40 AM

Committee has stated they favor conf champs. Pac 12 all have 2 losses. Too much left unknown at this point to say who gets the 2 spots.
Hopefully, for Clemson, we won't be playing the what if game.

1) it would take a lot more teams with 2 losses in the B12

Nov 17, 2015, 11:06 AM

and B10 for us to get in under that scenario I think--- 2)the only caveat would be if we lost close and Watson had gotten knocked out of the game(say concussion) and the committee knew he would be back for the playoffs.....they do look at injuries

All I know is if we lose to UNC, the playoffs are no more.

We are going to smoke the Tarheels , and exhale in the face of the next two victims .
Clemson is going to National Champions again boys ...stop with the worried scenarios already .

yep. If we lose to the team that lost to USuCk

Nov 17, 2015, 10:45 AM [ in reply to Re: Crazy playoff scenario. Okie St loses one more game. ]

then we don't deserve to be there. Don't worry with such things though....that ain't gonna happen. Not to mention, I have serious doubts that UNCheat gets by both VT and NCSU without at least one loss

Clemson Football, the glory days are here!

I'm not worried about I think we will hang 50 on the holes.

Clemson wins out. Florida loses to FSU, but beats Bama in

Nov 17, 2015, 10:43 AM

SECCG. OSU drops one. Ohio State loses one.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Clemson gets #1 seed, and Oklahoma or whoever wins the Big12

Nov 17, 2015, 11:04 AM

with 1 loss is definitely in. If 13-0, 12-1 Mich St, or 12-1 Ohio St win the Big Ten, they are in. If it's 11-2 Michigan, then you have Michigan, Florida, and possibly ND/Stanford winner all fighting for 2 spots. That would actually be glorious. I would LOVE to see that and find out which teams get the shaft.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We would be DONE. UNC would even be ahead of us in the

Nov 17, 2015, 10:59 AM

pecking order at that point, but they wouldn't actually get in. Oklahoma would be in EASILY if they won out and won the Big XII. ND would get in ahead of UNC. Or if Stanford were to beat ND and win the Pac 12 at 11-2, they would also get in ahead of UNC.

You remember when we used to work out these crazy

scenarios every year around this time on how we could win just the ACC?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Without the "conference champion" bump

Nov 17, 2015, 11:17 AM

We would be out.

Though, that's not going to happen. We will beat the heels in a closer game than some folks think.

if unc wins out, they deserve a spot, but aint gonna happen

Nov 17, 2015, 11:17 AM

Cause they gotta play Clemson, and there's no way dabo and co. misorepare for that one. I see our tigers playing their hardest and best game of the year in the acccg.

That said, a hypothetical 12-1 acc champ that hadn't lost since the first game of the year to even a poor performing power5 team sounds remarkably like OSU 2014.

*misprepare

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So if UNC were to beat us 59-0 in the ACCCG they would

Nov 17, 2015, 11:21 AM [ in reply to if unc wins out, they deserve a spot, but aint gonna happen ]

have a chance? Remember Ohio St also had a win over a Mich St team that finished the regular season 10-2. UNC would have almost nothing on the resume aside from the win over Clemson. They would have to DESTROY us.
