If our DB's had trouble matching up with the coots
Nov 26, 2018, 1:52 PM

|
what makes us think we can match up with Alabama's receivers?
We didn't get much pressure on Bentley and when we sent the blitz the middle was left wide open which they took advantage of.
Sorry guys but I'm not very optimistic we can compete with the Crimson Tide this year. Alabama has better receivers and a better offensive line.

Its a good thing its a game of no adjustments and not allowed to watch film to correct some things. Coots don't even know they did us a favor. People forget we still outscored them 49-14 at one point and 21-0 to start the 2nd half. I'll just tell myself we gave false advertisement for our remaining opponents then...how about that?

I like how we ignore obvious flaws in our secondary and think its a blessing in disguise. This is exactly how we should react. Im sure being abused by the 10th best SEC team will get us mentally right for the best team in the country.

I like how we completely forget the previous 11 games in which our DBs played pretty well.
We had an off night, it happens, it happened when you were there.
They hit some lucky plays, bust plays, but it’s something we can work on and review film in the next month and a half we will have before we get a chance at Bama.

I thought the CBs did fine. LBs seemed lost at times. Not sure where the Safeties were on those deep passes, but I suspect they were pulled wide by the offensive formations.
This game was very reminiscent of the game against Pitt last year where we kept getting burned with the same types of plays. The good news is that it seems easily correctable. I doubt we see anyone have the same success with the same deep middle passes going forward.

I highly doubt we let Tua throw for over 300 yards. We can stuff their run and I promise you we will play better at LB and in the secondary. Bama is dang good but we are dang good as well. We will for sure compete with them. Anybody who does not think we can even compete with them is a moron.

I don’t know that you’re the best person to judge what happens in a football game. Aren’t you the guy who said Kelly Bryant was one of the best qbs in the country last year or something like that?
I wouldn’t bet a lot because it’s hard to imagine tua not throwing for 300 against us.

AJ, Trayvon, K'von match up just fine talent wise. We didn't play well on the back-end, but it seemed to me that the main problem was communication and our secondary not knowing which receivers they should cover/where the safety help should be. Whether that was getting the defensive calls in late or another issue, I have no doubt Coach V will get it corrected. I was surprised that it continued in the 2nd half as I assumed Coach V would make the proper adjustments at least by halftime. Gotta give some credit to them, they called a good game and Jake made some throws that surprised me. Sometimes you just have a bad day, and it usually doesn't help when the whole week everyone is saying how the other team doesn't stand a chance.. rat poison.

We also let aTm go wild in the second half and throw for over 400 yards. I think we certainly can learn from this, but obviously we didn’t get it completely fixed from that early season game. Our other opponents didn’t have an oline to protect the qb long enough. Bentley would release the ball right at the last second every time. We’ve struggled with that in the past, not just this year. Doesn’t matter when you outscore them.

Bama’s WRs?
I thought it was clearly stated in the pre-season that USC had the best WRs in the nation?
I mean they literally dropped the ball could’ve beat AnM, UF, Kentucky.
They played well in their super bowl last Saturday, Clemson played it’s C game on d. Good medicine for the defense before championship season.
Good luck vs Duke in Belk bowl.
