If I'm Neff
Dec 4, 2022, 1:41 PM
|
|
I am holding someone on the coaching staff responsible for not giving Cade a chance during the season to be the starting QB. Giving him reps. all season beginning with fall practice with the bench warmers and giving DJ reps all season beginning with fall practice with the first stringers and then gaslighting that Cade did not look good in practice as not being ready is BS, and Dabo should be held accountable. If I was Neff, someone would be held accountable and pay a price for the lying that has been going on all year. Last nigh, Cade proved he ### well was more than ready even with reps. with the bench warmers! I think fans are more upset with the BS lying by Dabo than by anything else concerning this cluster fark.

Are you still mad at your elementary girlfriend for breaking up with you also? You people need to let it go! That’s why Dabo gets paid what he does to run the program and he owes no one an explanation. If Neff has issues, he’ll go to Dabo, not T-Net.

I don't consider it a lie junk yard tiger ... I consider it poor judgement and a bit of favoritism. Not a plus, but Dabo has earned the ability to make some mistakes, and this one cost Clemson a playoff berth.

Neff's job is quality control, not getting involved with making the product. He should stay out of Dabo's business at least with specific decisions. This is coming from someone who doesn't think that Dabo owes an explanation, but an apology. And not for choosing DJ over Cade, but for not getting Cade ready earlier, in case DJ's inconsistency bit us in the butt.

Dabo does not report to Neff. Neff makes 850K per year. Dabo has a 115 million guaranteed contract that his lawyers just took Neff to the cleaners with. Lord Dabo answers to nobody with that contract. Once it gets down to 3-5 years left someone will be allowed to ask him a question. Not before.

Neff would be fired Tuesday, and Dabo would be rehired by Wednesday.
But yes, Neff is Dabo’s boss.

Considering IPTAY would owe the brunt of the $60 million dollar buyout I’m not sure Neff is truly Dabo’s “boss” in the sense that he can unilaterally fire him. I doubt a single employee can trigger that kind of expense without the approval of multiple parties.

Last week Dabo even referenced it while daring them to fire him if they didn't like something that he did. It is possible to have a boss while really not reporting to them.

junk yard tiger How do you conclude he lied when you have no insight or firsthand knowledge behind the decisions made? Have you been in the team meetings? Have you been at the practices? Because he said one thing and Cade demonstrated another doesn’t mean he lied. You must not have listened to Cade’s interview last night. Even Cade agreed that he was continuing to grow and learn throughout the season.
Just because something said doesn’t align with your perception/thoughts doesn’t make someone a liar. Grow up, dude.

Cade also said he had not been getting reps with the 1st team until this week and he got about a third of what DJ got this week. He said when asked by coach Richt that he had not gotten reps with the first team since fall practice. What did you expect him to say about his progress? Did you expect him to throw his coaches under the bus on national tv?
Seeing Cade play with my own eyes is all the insight I needed to know that he was more than ready. And every other person who saw his performance last night reached the same conclusion re. his having been ready before last night.
I cannot help it if you and others can't handle the definition of the word "liar".

junk yard tiger There is a reason that you and I neither one will know (nor deserve an explanation for) as to why Cade wasn’t getting reps with the first team. We all saw him play a great game last night; however, none of us have been at practices all summer and season long to see how he has done. Nor do we know his full proficiency up until now of the playbook.
You can reach whatever conclusion you would like, but yours is based on 3 hours; not all season long being around him 24/7 like the coaches. Calling Dabo a liar is insane, though. He stated his season long analysis of Cade compared to your 3 hour observation of Cade. Oh course he looked good last night because he was finally ready. And. . .that is why they put him in when they did.
That said, by the definition you provided, I guess you and everyone else is a liar also. My guess is that you’ve probably said some things that were marked by or contained untrue statements in your time as well.

Generally, a lie reflects intent. I don't think Dabo thought he was ready, which begs the question who was responsible for getting him ready?
I believe that Dabo's judgement was skewed by what he wanted versus what was true. There has been many a year that I thought that we, as in Clemson football was better than we actually were, so who am I to judge. Does that mean in those years, that I was a liar?

If you had an employee to whom you paid millions of dollars to perform a job as manager, and you kept seeing an employee under his management struggling to lead a team of employees tasked with performing a vital part of your business and you asked the manager if there was another employee named Joe who was a back up if he might be better suited for the job. and this manager who was a great manager kept telling you that Joe was not as good and was not ready and then when an important order had to be produced to keep your business from losing millions of dollars and the manager finally put Joe in charge and Joe got results with nary a missed step, and because the other employee had lost you a huge future order of millions, when in all probability, joe could have saved that future order, would you not want to hold your manager accountable for poor decision making and feeding you a line of BS? Even though he had performed well in the past as a manager or would you just take the future loss of millions and say nothing, even though you could not understand why he did what he did

Yes, you say nothing. You report to Dabo. You were just taken to the cleaners by Dabo's lawyers. He is locked in. For 10 years and 115 million and you are not allowed to ask questions. You are a minion that makes 850K per year and report to Dabo with a dotted line to the President. Just make sure you build Dabo whatever he asks for - no questions please.

Junkyard is pi$$ed off like myself but what the heck did y’all expect from a coach that once said DJ makes TL look average ?. Something we don’t know and probably will never know is why he was hung up on DJ no matter what. I don’t think it was Cade at all, could have been a TL sitting the bench and Dabo would have held on to DJ for dear life. Some sort of promise made or being bent on making DJ be what he thought he was. Maybe just maybe coaches were not high on DJ but Dabo was and it was Dabo who pushed the California offer all along. ?

He's a young kid that's been catapulted into one of the most high profile jobs in America and he's certainly not looking to rock the boat. Super nice guy, but much more of a basketball man than football. I suspect he'll be making moves in the BBall department once his feet are beneath him, but he certainly will not be holding anyone accountable in the football program.
