If you had an employee to whom you paid millions of dollars to perform a job as manager, and you kept seeing an employee under his management struggling to lead a team of employees tasked with performing a vital part of your business and you asked the manager if there was another employee named Joe who was a back up if he might be better suited for the job. and this manager who was a great manager kept telling you that Joe was not as good and was not ready and then when an important order had to be produced to keep your business from losing millions of dollars and the manager finally put Joe in charge and Joe got results with nary a missed step, and because the other employee had lost you a huge future order of millions, when in all probability, joe could have saved that future order, would you not want to hold your manager accountable for poor decision making and feeding you a line of BS? Even though he had performed well in the past as a manager or would you just take the future loss of millions and say nothing, even though you could not understand why he did what he did
