He is only 34 years old and has been an OC for three years.
You don’t promote an assistant to head coach to keep players from leaving. You only do that when you are sure they are ready.
I know we took a big chance on Dabo, and thankfully it worked out. Those were long odds though, and we were in a position to gamble. We are a much different program now. We can get most anyone we want. Why would we take a huge risk on a guy who has never been a head coach and who honestly underwhelmed in his only year here?

Agreed, Riley would be terrible. His brother is the better coach and even his teams lack culture and toughness. Riley may or may not be a good OC but I definitely wouldn't get him the keys to the car for sure.

NO NO NO NO NO on Jeff Scott. HARD pass. If I were neff the first thing I’d do is call Venables and tell him anything that he wants is his. If he passed id of course look at DeBoer. But my personal short list would be Coach V, DeBoer, Sherrone Moore, Joe Brady, Riley.

It’s got to be Riley. He’s going to be a HC in the near future.
He’s young and energetic. We would finally get to see his real offense. He would open up the portal and start playing the way the game is played today.
Riley has to be given the shot this year to see if he’s the man for real at the end of the season.
This is if Dabo decides to leave.

The fact that his offense was disappointing this year and he rarely showed much emotion or concern on the sidelines colors my opinion on him.

Kiffin is a great play caller and has learned he needs to have a defense to win big. Kiffin can clearly navigate to days game and wouldn't have to rely on filling his roster with transfers at Clemson.
