Which power 4 college did you play for? If you think you know this do you think the coaching staff and Cade Himself has not thought of it? How about get the OL to block better and get the recievers to catch the balls thrown to them. But heck about they have thought of that too!

Dad played college football and got scholarship from Coach Howard. He didn't take it. Dad was talked to by Cardinals to be a pro punter.
I played high school.......
but even I know that Cade is not looking anyone away... at all. If I can see it.............
Yes, I understand most of us don't know the other 15+ reads and things that come with it.

Cade is late on practically every throw. He misses wide open receivers frequently. He is playing like he did against Tennessee in the Orange Bowl. These are issues that have nothing to do with the OL.

Well we did have 500 yards of offense against Tennessee.

But failed miserably in the red zone. Cade threw for 320 yds but he showed some issues in the redzone, like running backwards 20 yards at the first sign of pressure.
That was a crazy game, but other than the redzone Cade played very well.
Check this out:
First downs: Clemson 34, UT 20 Total yards: Clemson 484, UT 375 Passing: Clemson 320, UT 251 Rushing: Clemson 164, UT 124 Penalties: Clemson 4-45, UT 9-105 Possession: Clemson 36:23, UT 23:37
We literally dominated the game statistically. The only reason UT won was because of hitting several long passes for TDs and our failures in the redzone.

Evidently you didn't play for a power 4 team either. #2 is not even seeing wide open receivers.

The coaching and playcalling has been just fine.

The idea is to get guys open, which the offense has done since game 1.
It’s NOT coaching. It’s the execution of the most important position on the field. The fact Cade is in the 90’s in QBR is totally and unquestionably on him and him alone.

He does pump fake - usually to his best target - and then throws somewhere else or runs out of bounds.

Joe Brady - Bullhorn - That's Coaching

Joe Brady, Josh Allen's current OC for Buffalo Bills, and Joe Burrow's college coach, forced Burrow to release the ball sooner by blowing a bullhorn at practice 2.5 seconds after each snap and stopping play. Changed LSU's and Burrow's trajectory over one Spring and Summer ending with a national championship and arguably the top all-time college Offense.
Conversely, Cade is releasing the ball at close to 3.4 seconds. One of the slowest in college football. Release time matters. But with respect to other posts, the poor OL, poor routes and Cade's lack of confidence and accuracy are factors as well.

That offensive lines gonna block did you see the player grades for the offensive line? Terrible the main thing is these kids have gotta get this money out of their head and play football like they’re eager just like Tristan Smith, and just like that defensive event we got.

That + NOT throwing behind his receiver + NOT missing more obvious passing ...
2
Sep 24, 2025, 4:50 PM

|
opportunities + NOT motioning his guys pre-snap to take advantage of situational defensive mismatches ...
+ NOT having his offensive line continue to slide away from assignments and creating more free rushers straight into Cade's face.
Any/all of these would help.

Cade has had time to throw. Especially against SU.

OL is NOT the issue. The OL has performed certainly well enough to be 3-1 or even 4-0, and that includes LSU when they blitzed a majority of the game. Still Cade left plays all over the field all other long, culminating in a missed TD and a missed open receiver on the last two plays of the game.
Minimal sacks, and the OL is paving the way for 5.9 yards a carry from Randall.
The OL is NOT the reason the QB is playing like hot garbage. Not at all.

Its like he has no base skillset to work from. We used to drill our little guys to pass on 2 seconds to the target no matter what they saw or read. It got them in a rhythm and we’d coach receivers to be where they were supposed to be and be ready to catch it because it was coming “no matter what.” Its almost as if he waits and wants a signal from his intended receiver that they are ready. Just backwards to me.

The team would be better if the QB was better, RBs had more speed, WRs constantly fought for the ball, OL blocked consistently, DL played with any kind of fire, LB/DB took good angles and made tackles, coaches put in the best guys and called players logically, and if there weren’t nepo hires everywhere you look. But yes, Cade getting the ball out faster would help. This team is in much worse shape than you want to believe

The team would be (considerably) better if the QB was playing better.
Randall is literally doing great at RB. Most yds per rush since ETN in fact, and that’s in spite of only 7 touches against LSU.
The WRs have dropped a few they should’ve caught for sure, but the QB is not giving then a chance on a dozen or more missed opportunities every week. He’s not seeing his open receivers and that’s been the crux of the 1-3 start.

I didn’t say Randall wasn’t doing well, but he doesn’t have home run speed. That run before the half against Syracuse wouldve been a TD with a lot of faster backs. That’s definitely the least of our issues though

I've said this before, drop him deeper in the pocket. Most teams are 10-14 yards. He's around 8-9 yards. This let's your tackles block to the outside, if they get around the tackle the QB steps up. If the inside breaks down he can go left or right. The vast majority of teams block this way regardless of talent. The way Clemson pass protects is why so many of his passes get knocked down. I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night. Lol.

Throwing late on nearly every pass. Even when it’s the primary receiver, when they do get open he’s holding on to the ball entirely too long. Very indecisive. Then when there are open receivers outside of his primary target, he’s not seeing them. Right in front of him even. When he actually does find a check down guy, he’s still doing it late. Then we have the issue of accuracy. He’s overthrowing a lot of guys and throwing the ball in bad places making it extremely hard for the receivers to catch it.
You’re right. Cade is holding the ball entirely too long. That’s just the start of it.

The funny thing is, thats literally what every QB we play does to us. Cade likes to wait til a defender gets close enough to de-cleat our wrs on the catch. He doesn't throw a wr open, he throws them to a defender
