It took a miracle to beat a terrible Pitt team. The only winning record team we've beat. Nah, seriously Clemson shouldn't be higher than 23rd.

Can you please define a top 12 team? Even a top 8 team? I mean with 2 or 3 loses it just "means more" I guess. I'd say if we got in the playoffs we'd make some noise.

Who is? Penn State? Who have they beat? Indiana? Again, who have they beat (although, I haven’t a problem with their ranking before today). Alabama? They have that win over Georgia. That was an impressive one half of football, but let’s face it, Georgia beats them by 10 7 out of 10 times, and Georgia should have won that game even in spite of how awful they were in the first half of that game.
Okay, what about Texas? What is their “best win.” After an entire season of play, mighty Texas’ best win is beating Candy by 3. Seriously. That’s their best win. A 3 point win over Candy. And, kudos to Candy this year. They had a solid football team, but what are they now? 6-5 or 7-4? Something like that? Michigan is mediocre this year. That win at Michigan is never something one should be ashamed of, but the 2024 version of Michigan is NOTHING similar ti what they were since the start of this decade. Choklahoma? They are mediocre too. Texas drilling them, this year, is nothing to hang a hat on. And, what happened when they played the one great team on their schedule? The lost by double digits . . . at home. In most any other year none of the teams I’ve named would be Top 10, much less Top 5.
Is Clemson a Top 5 team this year? Nope. Not a chance. However, if they beat South Carolina next week, and things hold where they are, and a team or two loses again next week (very possible) does Clemson have as good of an argument to get in the playoff as Penn State, Texas, or Indiana? I think they do. No matter what those SEC homers and national pundits say, the ACC is not a bad conference. Is it down this year? A little, but not horrible. And, I think the numbers show, over the last 25 years, the ACC has been the third best conference in America, only slightly behind the Big Ten. I think first round draft picks and championships gives credence to that.
Therefore, ANYTIME Clemson goes 7-1 in the ACC, that’s VERY GOOD. Why? Because throughout the conference history since 1953, Clemson rarely has finished win a .850+ win percentage in conference play. Heck, I have been faithfully following them for 38 years, and I have only watched them do it a few times before 2012 (1987, 1988, 1991). I think that’s it. A grand total of THREE times 25 years. Since 2012, I’ve watched them do it TEN times. But, the program is TOTALLY broken and Dabo must GO!!!

Yes, 9-2. They should voluntarily impose a one year death penalty and cancel the program. An .818 winning percentage. Unacceptable “in those hills.” Fire everyone. A message needs to be sent. At Clemson, if you don’t win every game, you don’t play a game. Period.

Even if Boise loses, if they are a conference champ they likely get in (top 5 ranked conference champs get in)…. ACC, SEC, Big 12, Big, and they would be MAC, i dont see another conference that has a ranked leader

Boise State has no affect on the Wildcards because some team has to be the G5 pick whether it is Boise or not.
