Not a better coach, but I would not want Kiffin. Besides his baggage, he would be here maybe two years before jumping somewhere else.

Well good thing we can pay Dabo millions to be a “better person” and not worry about winning games. Good thing for Dabo anyways….

11.5 million dollars is some kind of salary for a Sunday school teacher.

He’s the only Sunday school teacher with 2 national championships. Matter of fact there is only one other active coach with as many as our Sunday school teacher.

So let’s keep paying him and his friends and family to be better people and do Paw Journey stuff, while having fans pay and watch bad football every Saturday because he won two nattys 10 years ago.

I would say so. Kiffin record in college is 111-53 ~68 winning percentage Dabo is 183-51 ~78 winning percentage I would say that Dabo is way better by these numbers.

A lot of those ACC wins came easier and I give the coordinators of the past more credit for the actual coaching. Dabo gets the credit for bringing them in during our best years. Dabo is a good CEO but not a great COO and never a coordinator.

Apples and oranges. The market is about to give Kiffin the top pay in college history (until the next big contract).
If Ole Miss plays Clemson next week, who wins? The better coach?

Is FSU (Norvell) better than Alabama (Deboer)? The point is not one game or one season but overall.

The problem with Lane Kiffin is he won't stay anywhere long

enough to establish a consistently good record.
So, until he can put up a long string of ten-win seasons and two national championships, I'd say Dabo Swinney is the better coach DESPITE how he achieved the record.
I have repeatedly relayed the fact that Dwight Eisenhower was never considered a good X's and O's general. But he was one hellll of an evaluator of personnel, and that's how he put the team together to achieve our victory in the ETO. Dabo Swinney put together the team that won those national championships. Lane Kiffin hasn't done it yet, and I suspect he never will, because he allows himself to get into repeated controversies either with his penchant for flip-flopping from team to team or his mouth or his personal life.
Now, the question remains: if Dabo put a winning staff together once, can he do so again, for I'm not convinced we're there yet. Rather, I think he has been testing the waters, trying to do so. Are Riley and Allen the best possible choices for their roles? That, my friends is the $64,000 question. And that's an answer Dabo will have to come up with himself...and I mean, in a hurry, for the vultures are circling...something I hate for Dabo's sake, for he is a good man, and he has done something for my Alma Mater that no other coach has done in over 100 years of football, and I am grateful.

There’s no question that Ole Miss is certainly having a better year than Clemson right now.
There’s also no question that if you look at body of work Dabo is the better coach than Kiffin and that won’t change at the end of this year. Don’t be a prisoner to the moment.

There is no question much of Dabo's success came from playing in the cupcake conference and can be linked to BV. Many of us are really in the Dabo cult deep. It's going to be a long hard fall next few years until they wake up.

They look at Dabo and see the 2015-2020 Dabo, not the 2021-present Dabo.
They are unable to see what is actually happening. It’s sad.

If I were the Florida or PSU AD and could choose between Dabo or Kiffin right now, I would take Kiffin.
There was a time when Dabo was a better HC, but he’s never been a better hands-on coach. If Dabo and Kiffin were each given 50 players of equal talent and a month to prepare them by themselves for a game - coaching everything from the OL to the secondary to the kickers - I would take Kiffin all day.

The OP is EXACTLY what’s wrong with a lot of this fan base.
Kiffin is a much… much better X and O guy than Dabo is and it’s not even close. It’s not even the same universe.
Had Kiffin been playing an ACC schedule for as long as Dabo has… their records would be very similar.
Kiffin is a grade A do*che but he can flat out coach QBs and offense.
Ole Miss would beat the h*ll out of us at any time over the past 5 years.
I don’t care what records and stats say… again… Kiffins been playing in the SEC West until recently and even now without divisions… those schedules are ridiculously tough.
Yet he’s finding ways to win 8/9/10 games a year at Ole Miss.
We would be so far better off with Kiffin today than Dabo that it would shock people.
Everybody knows why he’s not well liked… he’s one of those guys that if he’s yours you love every minute of it but if he’s against you then he’s hated with a passion.

If it is about the competition level then he should have done great at FAU. But he went 26-13 which is about his career average. He even got to coach at a blue blood in USC and went 28-15.

And went 5-7 in between those seasons. Which gave him a record of 26-13 there as previously stated. Thats not bad but Dabos record with a more difficult schedule is a lot better.
