I think technically they can but Dabo would never go for it.

I think they can play.

Mack Brown said if he had guys they wanted to enter the portal, but also stay and play in the bowl game, he would let them, as long as they prepared and stayed out of trouble.

I heard the coach of North TX last week on ESPN U radio talk about how he and his staff haven’t made that determination yet about their bowl game. It’s gotta be a really tough decision for those smaller schools who are losing their best players to bigger schools and NIL riches. You wouldn’t have gotten that bowl game without that stud receiver who’ll be playing for Bama next year; would letting him finish the season be more or less fair to the rest of the guys who are staying?

IMO that’s a really strong argument for not opening the portal until after the national championship game is played.

Technically, they can. It's up to each coaching staff to make that decision.
