We fell behind 6-0 to WCU and our bats went off, so we got to keep Barnes in. You don't waste an arm when your bats could come alive at any time. Especially when you don't have a particularly deep bullpen. You're better off riding it out and hoping your offense comes alive. You don't waste arms if you can live to play another game.
We managed to save Krall and Eubanks to help us dig our way out of this hole. Imagine if we had thrown one of them tonight.

Talent. We do NOT have great talent. Beer is our best talent and he is quite the talent, but what he has fine with the pieces he inherited has been phenomenal. We were questioning whether or not we would make the post season in the pre season. He's a heck of a coach.

Huh? No one is questioning ML as a coach. He is obviously doing a hell-uv-a job.
But....there needs to be an upgrade on defense if we hope to win it all....period.

This isn't breaking news and it also wasn't going to be fixed in one year.

We weren't hitting their pitcher and the damage was already done. Why pull him and waste a needed pitcher for today and tomorrow.
Now we get a complete game from Karl tonight, a great combined outing by Eubanks Bostic Crawford, and worry about Monday when it gets here. I'm thinking Barnes/Schmidt start

No for Monday start as he was over 100 pitches on Friday. Not enough rest or recover time. If we do not win regional you will only see him next year on opening day. Schmidt is a possibility as he threw 55 pitches on Saturday. We need to take care of business today to get to tomorrow! Let's go Tigers!
