18 teams in a conference is too many and more would be a total nightmare.

Merging would be better as we could have divisions based in part on geography which would mean less cross country trips if done correctly

The B12 has no alpha programs in football. We would be watering down our potential schedule even further here.

The ACC's best bet for long-term relevance is to divide up the programs we have in upper and lower divisions so the top programs would play each other more often and the schools and their games that nobody gives a crap about anyway would do the same. We could even add a few programs for lower division football that could bring some extra basketball punch, like a UConn, Memphis, maybe Temple or something like that.

What would that accomplish? It's not going to bring in any more money, and it's not going to make any of the teams better.

It would enhance our annual schedule along with our primary league rivals. There would be added value in our media partner having more sellable games every year than we can offer now considering who all we have to play in league.
