I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see and ACC school getting an at large bid. ESPN is already shilling for a 3 loss SEC team to get in. It’s disgusting.

Seems in a sane world 2 losses to unranked teams would trump the good win. But it’s not a sane world it’s a sec world and I can’t disagree with your conclusion.

If this happens all the other presidents of these universities need to rise up and do something. Get a backbone and hold this silly biased committee accountable. 3 losses should eliminate you period.

There’s nothing to be done, unfortunately. Withdrawing from consideration is the only option, and that’s what they want us to do, anyway.
Better win the ACC or lose only one game or we aren’t going. Simple as that.

I remember when the talking heads said it would be "impossible" for a 2 loss team to make the 12 team playoffs. Then it became "unlikely" that a 2 loss team to make it. Now it's "possible" for a 3 loss team to make it...translation..."$EC...E$PN...see a pattern here?

playoff! Or even "unlikely". I think they said it would be "unlikely" for a 3 loss team to make it! In fact, it is "unlikely" that there would ever be a year without at least a couple of 2 loos teams in a 12 team playoff!

Ole Miss has bad losses…
Bama has bad losses….
The committee will not ignore how bad their losses are.
A win over SCAR puts us right there.
I believe the ‘5 teams in from SEC’ narrative that was being pushed is now over.
They will try to media blitz to get 4 in…but it looks like 3 is more likely.
ACC should definitely get 2 in…provided we beat SCAR.

Why do you think we'll be one of those 2? Wouldn't the loser of the ACC title game be the more rational choice? Let's say Miami wins the ACC. If SMU has the same record as Clemson, but their loss is because they played one more game than Clemson, doesn't the body of work suggest they should go?

It’s going to be about quality wins, strength of record, etc., much like it is for the NCAA Tournament in basketball.
Honestly, that’s how it should be. Teams that pad their wins against poor and mediocre teams and have few if any quality wins have no business getting in over teams that played real schedules and had some success against it.
Bad losses should matter too, of course. It all matters.

Assuming Miami beats Syracuse, Clemson needs help from GT or Vandy to get in. If Vandy beats UT, UT is out. If GT beats UGA, then that hurts the SEC brand and helps the ACC get an at large bid. I don't think anyone would care if FSU beat UF although it would help the ACC chances.
In that case I think Clemson would get in over a 3 loss Bama and Old Miss team.

Two loss Clemson has a chance to get in over ole Miss and Bama. Because Clemson is a strong football brand. Two loss SMU or even Miami is going to the Pop Tarts Bowl instead of getting in over Clemson or three loss Bama.
