The four conference run downs for ten playoff spots

Big Ten … Oregon, Penn State, Indiana and Ohio State are in … conference championship game will not affect these four

Six spots left

Big 12 … BYU is out. The conference championship winner is in … Sun Devils I hope.

Five spots left

SEC … Texas and Georgia are both in … and the selectors are hoping Georgia beats Texas.

Three spots left.

ACC … Miami and SMU are in.

One spot left

Clemson takes this spot with a win. Should the Tigers lose, the next in line is BYU (for real). None of us believe the committee will relegate the exalted SEC to two teams … so should Clemson lose the selection will come down to South Carolina or Tennessee … and I think the committee will give it to Tennessee.

Go Tigers … beat THOOSMU!

Alabama will get in over Miami. No way they leave Alabama out. Clemson loses and South Carolina in.

I think they are out. I think if SMU loses then the 12th spot is between Bama and SMU. If SMU wins, the 12th spot goes to Bama.

That's my guess.

I will be interested tonight to see where the following teams are ranked with respect to each other:
Boise
SMU
Bama
Ole Miss
SC
Miami

That could give us some insight as to what the committee is thinking.
