ESPN: Clemson-FSU impact on Playoff chances

Clemson-Florida State was listed among ESPN's consequential games for the 2022 College Football Playoff this week.
The Tigers are still given decent odds to make the CFP even if they did suffer a loss but run the table (67%), but the picture after just this week painted would have Clemson with a 26% shot in that scenario according to the ESPN Playoff Predictor.
"The reason this matters so much is two-fold:
1. Clemson is not certain to earn a berth as a one-loss ACC champion. Should Clemson lose to Florida State and then win out, it would have a 67% chance at the playoff. That's a product of having just the 54th most difficult schedule in the FBS and being only the sixth best team, according to FPI.
2. Clemson has another tricky matchup ahead: at Notre Dame. The Tigers will be favored but FPI only gives them a 65% chance to win that game."

ESECPN has a 100% chance to throw 100% shade on Clemson. All ESECPN segments on Clemson are recorded at night, in a basement, with the lights off, in a closet, inside a tent, under an umbrella.

CFP as a one loss ACC Champion the way things are shaping up this year. Barring upsets, the SEC will get the same two teams in that got in last year. BIG winner, probably Ohio State, gets in. A one loss Michigan would still have people lobbying for them. If you had an undefeated Big 12 or Pac 12 Champ, I think we get left out.
The only hue and cry that could be raised, would be over a one loss, non-champion 2nd team from the SEC getting in over a one loss conference champion Clemson. The Committee has always trumpeted that conference champions would get preference.
BUTT, what most people conveniently forget is the second part of their statement, which was, "when other factors are roughly equal". You will never find a national paid pundit to lobby for Clemson to get in over the SEC team in that scenario, because, the old chestnut, weak ACC, strong SEC. So, not roughly equal. Not saying it would be wrong or right, just that it would BE. If that turns out to be the case, then........
"We're Dooomed."

I’m gonna go full Aaron Rodgers on this one. We should stop the talk about what happens if we are a one-loss conference champion and just go win them all.

“Frankly, I don't like all this conversation about losing… I'm a firm believer in the power of words and manifestation. And we've got to check ourselves on that, because talking about that is not winning football. There was conversation about it… and I don't like it…but we don't need to be talking like that.”

Absolutely we need to have faith our Tigers will be great regardless of how it shakes out. Just go win this week, the other stuff is all bonus.
The media or other teams fans aren’t giving us anything and they never have, we have to go earn what this team is capable of doing.
I believe we will win the playoffs as a much improved team but regardless I’m All In!

I don’t get the strong SEC. They only have a few teams that are good every year. They have a lot of teams that scratch to be a .500 team. See what I did there. Chicken reference just in case you missed it.

Well we can't whine about not getting in the playoffs if we can't beat FSU, especially if there are undefeated teams out there at the end of the season. Its great playing in a lousy conference except that you don't really have much of an excuse when you lose.
