into that stadium before (my friend went to Vandy so I wore black and gold to humor him), and had a terrible experience. I would go to their stadium again in a heartbeat, but I would wear a gray tshirt.

I'll be decked out in orange also. Really wouldn't wear another color to be honest. Maybe I'm underestimating the 'friends in low places' that is ugay fans. But my plan as of now is to go DT to drink beer for lunch, then gradually get closer to section 103. Coming with some bros, thought about bringing the gf but Ive been advised not to.
Thought FSU fans were worse this past year. How bad can they be in Athens?

Ok, I can't swear for ALL UGA fans, but I've been going to games at Sanford Stadium for 30 years and have never seen anything bad happen to an opposing team's fans. Obviously, some drunk moron has started up. I actually seek them out and talk to them. About six years ago, I drove to Oklahoma State alone and walked the campus in my UGA shirt, and got invited to several tail gate tents with OK State fans. Then again, we're not rivals.

From my high school in GA advised me to not say a word on my way straight to my car and not to run into them. If we won.
Your fans tried to fight me inside the stadium for clapping and smiling, throughout the entire game.

Athens is bad. Fsu is mouthey and UGA fans outside the gate are pretty violent. Inside the stadium it is OK except for the student section. Anyone going into any student section anywhere and pulling against the home team is asking for problems.

I got a text last night from a UGA co-worker who let me know that his wife can't go to the game and if I can make my way down from Chicago - then giddy up.
So I'm heading down on Delta to take in the sights of Sanford and Athens. Ive been to a UGA game once when they were hosting Tennessee around six years ago. I wore that ugly orange they have to show my anti-UGA bias.
I cheered for UT and sat in a lower deck UGA section. I didnt have any problems. I was loud but also not drunk and I didn't act like a total d#%k.
So Ill be down there again wearing Clemson Orange and once again having a good time.

Usually, the better the seats, the higher class the people sitting in them. Lower deck at UGA aint cheap seats (except student section.)

There is a contingent with all fan bases, thankfully much less from what I've seen at our Clemson home games, who will target you with profane taunts and be ready to throw down. If you are attending with women and children, be smart.

And felt that I would be a traitor or chicken for not supporting my team. My wife and kids will not be there so I only have to worry about my own safety. Although I will avoid any altercation that I possibly can, I am a big boy who has no problem taking care of myself. Not too worried about insults, beer or whatever. If it gets to be more than that, then I will do what I must. Hopefully I can just enjoy the game. I am just happy to finally get to see a great matchup there. Go Tigers!!'!

As much as id like to talk you outta that color you shouldnt have an issue in athens and if so its isolated to the idiots that every fan base has. Ive had a great time at games with folks from our biggest rivals and actually took some lsu folks back to their hotel in our limo the same night they waxed us in the seccg. Hope it goes well and you have a good time....but lose the game of course.

I have been there in my SC gear several times and regardless of when we have won or lost there is nothing to worry about once your inside the stadium. Expect lots of trash talking pregame, but just like every college venue, you are fine once you are inside.
Almost 100% of people who run into trouble bring it on themselves. Be a good sport and you'll be fine.
