Then again Jeff thought that too. They are seeing some fruits of his labor I think finally. 3-3 this year after 1-1…looks like they had some close calls (and blowouts last year…not surprising form a younger team). I’m probably a bit biased though. Have family that graduated from there ..blah bla.
Go Bulls.

They are building a home stadium too but this is only vetting and they would probably be added only if Miami or FSU should leave. ACC is probably (for once) smart and have candidates ready to go rather than being caught with their pants down like the PAC.

we should quit dancing around and liquidate into B10, SEC, and Big 12.
It would push the conferences to be so big that they break down into divisions based off region and it's almost like we are back to normal again.

If Tigers FSU NC and Miami ever leave the conference will fall apart as the PAC 12 or become equal with the American and Conference USA.

With Clemson, FSU, and UNC ready to bolt today, and their 3 replacements already lined up, I'm guessing this is to fill in for Miami, Ga Tech, UVA (B1G bound with UNC), and likely Louisville (Big XII) to follow.
Commissioner Phillips clearly stated the league's goal over the summer: Shoot for being 3rd best. With the Big XII's latest moves collecting the Pac's 2nd-tier programs, on top of already scooping up the top G5 programs, that's going to be a tough get.

Hindsight is 20/20, but crazy to think the ACC is considering those schools when they could have easily had Oklahoma State, Baylor, TCU, UCF, etc. about 12 months ago before the Big 12 stabilized itself with a new TV deal and grant of rights. ACC hasn't shown much proactivity to this point.

Pharaoh Phillips Let my people go! Can we threaten a plague of spoiled Clemson blue cheese in the ACC office vents if our demands aren’t met?

I am working on the premise that FSU and Clemson will soon leave the ACC.
I welcome the rumors of ACC expansion. Every rumor I hear leads me to hope it means the departure of FSU and Clemson is imminent.

Memphis will wind up in the Big XII with Louisville IMO. Memphis, Cincinnati, Louisville, and West Va would make for a nice 4-team grouping for them for scheduling purposes. Okay in football and hoops and passionate fan bases to boot.

Tulane would be a better add than some might think. They are strong academically and would expand the ACC footprint into another major metro area.
UAB is a sleeper. They’ve VASTLY improved and been shooting up the academic rankings on the backs of their health science program. They just need the athletic push that the ACC could provide.
Both bring in more southern states that currently aren’t in the ACC unlike say USF when FSU and Miami are already in conference. And quite frankly I’d rather have Tulane over some random ### school like Wazu that is 2000 miles away from the South East.

ACC leaders not sufficiently intelligent. Think they would form a more workable pod for scheduling with StanCal. Wouldn't watch games of UAB and USF if they were playing in the backyard.

I’d be much more likely to travel to BHam or NOLA over the middle of f’n nowhere in Washington for a game against Wazu.
Part of the issue tho is they never should have taken Stanford and Cal. Sure OSU and WSU make more sense for that pod. None of that makes a lick of f’n sense for the ACC though.
