Yeah we know that. You have been hyping up Putin and Russia for months due to another one your idiotic conspiracy theories I believe. I forget why again. Anyway, yeah you have made it clear that you support Russia and North Korea for months... Thanks for the starting a thread though.

When Trump says something like Ukraine caused the war, you know our allies are just scared to death.

Zelensky has now lost war loving Linsday Graham, of all people, who says Zelensky needs to be replaced. If the neocons are running for the hills that tells you all you need to know about how this is being perceived by the non lefty kooks.

Lindsey is just saying that to kiss MAGA butt. It doesn't take much to lose Lindsey.

If everybody on one side are righteous geniuses, and everybody on the other mindless hacks, why even discuss it? I dont know what Lindsay said or why about this, but accusing him of waffling just for politics seems unreasonable, if only because his own side accuses him of not being pure enough. One might not like what he says, but he seems to believe what he says.

Lindsey is a political windsock and partisan hack. Republicans think he's gay.

That is why some of them don't think he's "pure enough."

If this subject is assessed based on what one thinks of Trump, Putin or Biden, the discussion will continue in circles. The idea that an invaded country should be protected by us is a legit position. The idea that an invasion does not require a response from us is a legit position. The factors that determine which are of course what has to be determined. The personalities or parties involved are irrelevant. One can scan down the page and see little, if any, reference to the whys. Do we care, or is it just about who we vote for?
Ukraine has lost between 50k and 100k people, with 500K more wounded, has had entire cities leveled, and after 3 years the war is basically where it started with no end in sight. The loss continues on this scale, and we are propping up Ukraine enough to bleed itself dry. The stakes are so high that it seems to me that the most heartless response one can choose is to pick a side due to politics, which reduces those lives to chips in a debate. Lucky us.
The starting point seems to be, (A) What is the end result we have in mind and (B) do we have the moral obligation in this case to make that happen? From there we decide whether it is reachable, and the hows.
Or I'm drinking too early.

That would be nice, but for MAGA people is just about Trump. For the rational people it's about right and wrong. It's about the West vs Putin and North Korea.

In that case, you will be surprised to discover many people thought facilitating a long term war in Ukraine was unwise long before the election process even began, let alone before he was nominated.

It's been going on since 2014, so we're past it not being a "long-term" war.***

Yes, you get my point, that long ago many people saw this end result as unwise.

So you just wanted to allow Russia to take Ukraine? What did you expect to happen?

I don't agree with the characterization of this case, but I respect this post.

Good logic, reasonable position.
I believe Ukraine started the war and really it was the US that drove it, going back to 2013.
Yes, Russia moved into territory owned by Ukraine, but that wasn't the start of the war.
Other than that, good post.

Tom. You're a nutcase. Site this one out. I was hoping we could leave the conspiracy nutcases out of this equation. Thanks for coming though.
