Boys, we might win the natty in Crootin this year!

Jun 21, 2022, 8:36 PM

We up to #3 in rivals rankings. (Or will be when it gets updated)

We might pull a UGA and win the crootin natty. I guess all that crootin finally paid off for them this year so maybe can’t make that joke.

Still got a ways to go but the Tiga’s are HOT in crootin. Dem boys hotttt

We would need a full class of 25 to have a chance. For that to happen Dabo would need to build more margin in the number accounting for attrition than is his custom

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Gonna be a big class this year. Think we finish Top5.

Jun 21, 2022, 9:37 PM

But again, doesn’t matter if you don’t develop them or if you don’t also recruit character.

This class will be ranked high by the outsiders, but also loaded with character people.

Hmmm… I wonder what Cobbox thinks about our recruiting?

Oh wait…

I know the numbers look good but

The 4 stars are 200-400 range mostly. These aren't many top 100 like we used to get. Still a good class but this aint top 3 class imo. Unless we pick up more top 100 players

oh no! we suck again

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's shaping up to be a great class, but xtiger has a point.

Jun 21, 2022, 10:32 PM

Not as many "elite", say top 10 level recruits in the picture (so far), but still an excellent class across the board that is addressing needs at a high level.

Recruiting services will do another adjustment to the list sometime next month when camps get rolling and a lot of these commits are definitely getting some bumps up the list

Recruiting is only half the job........ developing big time players is the real chore. At that, Dabo and Company are excellent.

Well ETN, Simmons, and Renfrow weren’t 5 stars either. Is it nice to have 5 stars, heck yes. But I think we’ve been around long enough to know it’s not just about the stars. Development matters.

No doubt development matters and our staff is really good at development but without the 5* guys like DW4 TL16 and Christian Wilkins we would not have two Nattys in the last 10 years. Said differently it takes a lot of different pieces to win it all

Good thing We signed Cade. I think its all about the QB position IMO.

So that’s 3 guys in that period. Do you not think that Burley or Vizzina or Cade have a chance to become that type guy too? How many do we need to get each year to stop all the hand wringing?

I still count the return of Henry, XT and Potter for another year as part of a great recruiting job by the staff.

Some these 4 stars may very well end up 5 stars when all is said and done.

Vic Burley definitely will be a 5?? When everything is said and done

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yep, since no one else is currently in top 150,

Jun 22, 2022, 9:32 AM

it would be almost impossible for them to move to a 5 star

I'll be content with a top 5 class. If we can manage that our ability to develop players and our supporting staff will keep us in the mix. Yeah, yeah I know we've replaced some critical pieces but I think they were long awaited to be quite frank and Wes is going to be better than most anticipate.I know everybody is aware of our dline but I'm going to go out on a limb and say we will have the best defense in the country. I've said before how critical our first four games are to our season. If DJ improves ( honestly , how could he not ? ) to the point we're up 28-0 , or so at the half you'll see Cade come in and get some valuable PT. This team starts firing on offense and nobody can stay on the field with us. Nobody. This is the best possible scenario to improve recruiting to a possible top ranked class in the coming years

D--- Strait development matters! Let the dawgs and the aggies keep their 'crootin' natties. We all know that Dabo is focused on putting us back on the mountaintop, and that my friends is all that matters. I am loving this class and the momentum seems to be continually building. I really like that Vizzina seems to always be the first one to congratulate his knew classmates - sign of a great leader. And thank you to everyone pointing out that this staff continually develops our own five stars from the players that Rivals wasn't smart enough to rank that way. If you didn't see it, our 2 star Renfrow just got re-ranked by PFF as a 1st rounder in their mock draft of 2019.

Tiger Staff, Keep up the fantastic work! Please let me borrow your crystal ball someday...
