As long as it’s understood that he’s a good WR Coach, great recruiter, but peter-principled at the OC level or above. I called Tony and Jeff dumb and dumber when they were co-OCs. Bad, really bad.

Eventually we will get to the point where each player on the field has a coach on the sideline talking to that player in real time through a headset, telling him what to do and when to do it. This is micro-managing and the game was never meant to be like this. It's all about chasing the dollars in a hyper competitive environment now. The love of money truly is the root of all evil. Sorry for the rant, but I am becoming increasingly disillusioned with the game I grew up loving. Football is becoming a business/entertainment enterprise instead of a sport.

If this allows Goodwin to focus 100% on DC, and some former NFL middle LB to coach that position then this would be great news.

I believe the NFL has larger on-field staff, but there’s diminishing returns, so they have found the right mix that college HC’s should consider. Like everything, at some point there’s too many cooks in the kitchen to get anything done.

With us having younger non portal guys this will increase our abilities on the field to improve greatly/faster while portal guys getting paid big dollars don’t like to be told what to do because they already know.
This is an advantage for us, it’s why Dabo likes it!
I know it’s going to be said with all our comedians so he can hire his family & friends who would be loyal to him.

Schools' ability to pay coaches exorbitant salaries was based in part on the players willingness to compete without pay. Now that schools are being forced to pay up to $30M to athletes (if I read the article correctly), it will likely put a damper on additional coaches and the salaries they receive. The money has to come from somewhere and there is a limit in terms of how much they wring out of fans.

If they add many more "Staff" on the sideline during games, there will be no room for players. I counted 22 Orange "Staff" pullovers on the sideline at one game last year. Good grief! It sure is easy to spend someone else's money these days.
