Calling everyone who voted "yes" a backwoods inbred
May 9, 2012, 10:09 AM

homophobe is really about as sophisticated and intelligent as calling everyone who voted "no" a homosexual. When you stamp your feet and have a big tantrum about it, it really just sub-consciously reinforces the decisions the people who disagree with you made.
hth!

Odd that 31 states have now passed the amendment. Either the super majority of us are right wing homophonic nuts, or maybe America still is a Christian country. Either way, democracy still rules. I didn't vote for Obama, but I support him as president.

Hmmm, two national poll results

show a MAJORITY of Americans now support ghey marriage. (52% to 48% and 47% to 43% It may be a majority of States, but not a majority of the people.
Look around you, because the nation and its demographics are changing. I give it about 10 more years.

We can agree on that. The NC Speaker of the House also said that the amendment would be reversed during the next generation.

Probably. Maybe it's only a delaying tactic. The amendment

Who knows? Even in NC the last poll I saw indicated a closer result than the voting indicated. It doesn't seem that people care enough yet to show up to vote for same sex marriage, in some places. Remember, as has been pointed out on this board twice already, it was just 4 years ago that it was defeated in redneck homophobe California.
It does seem though, that the trend seems to be in that direction.

When asked the question people say they don't have a problem with it.
But when in the privacy of a voting booth, the overwhelming majority vote to define marriage as between a man and woman.
It has never passed as many times as it's been put on the ballot.

Listen there ARE non-religious reasons to be wary of homosexual marriage.
There are also conservative reasons for voting No on the amendment yesterday.
