Not knocking the kid at all. But in all your surfing, you seem to have missed the site where the reporter (not readers) says we weren’t pushing for him, that we liked a couple of other portal players better. Now whether or not that is true or whether or not those kids are actually better - that is a different conversation. But I’m sure you want to be fair and balanced in your reporting.

I saw the site that had his top 5, and mentioned the top 4 as recruiting him the hardest but did mention Clemson. But didn't see anything about players they liked better. Richard was considered a top 5-10 player in the portal now. TCI mentioned a few players but didn't say these were the only players being recruited. He would have been a good candidate to replace Collins.

Clemson wasn't pushing. That is correct. There are players that they think are more ready to help right away. He's a guy who would have been a nice addition to the program, but the staff likes other guys as far as for the 2022-23 season.

He is a high priority for us. Brad was just on campus visiting him.
Not sure why some people are suggesting we aren’t trying hard to get him.

I heard that we backed off a bit in the last few days

after having some encouraging meetings with other portal prospects that we feel can help more.
I’m sure we would’ve taken him if he wanted to be a Tiger, but he wouldn’t have started next year.

Lol. It's not like Clemson had a lot of spots available. He went to Florida then since he was going to play a lot..Go look at the portal rankings. He was in top 5 or 10 guy. Good get for them...

It honestly makes sense. We have 2 wings that will be freshman next year. Looks like brownell is targeting a wing that can come in and start right away. A Collins type.

The freshman that CBB gets lately to commit to Clemson have not been big contributors their first year. Not quite ready for "primetime" in ACC competition as they say. Collins and Bohannon were both nice transfer portal pickups last year but CBB will need ball handler/scorers next year in the worst way. If he doesn't get solid talent to transfer in he knows he is out in 2023.

Yes, Clemson has never recruited the instant impact type guys. It has been very rare for Clemson.
This is why brownell wants a more seasoned wing. We have 2 freshman coming in. Why would we need another inexperienced wing?
