Enjoy Rivalry Week, This Is Rare Air

This is going to be a fun week if you allow it to be.
We are not a perfect team, nor program, at this moment. But allowing that to blind you from enjoying this week is one that you may regret when you are getting old like me and soon to be in a rocking chair!
Pending CFP rankings, this could be (at worst) the 2nd highest ranked Clemson/Scar game in Death Valley HISTORY!
The only real challenger? 2012, when Clemson entered ranked #12 and Scar was #13. South Carolina won 27-17. But the 2012 game was pre-playoff, and other than bragging rights the only thing on the line was bowl pecking order.
Considering this game has College Football Playoff implications for BOTH teams, IMO, this is the biggest Clemson/Scar game in Death Valley history!
Alabama/Auburn, Texas/TAMU, Florida/FSU, Ohio State/Michigan, Miami/FSU....have each had in their in-state rivalry a time in history where those games could mean the difference between winning and playing for a title and losing and not playing for a title...
But we haven't had that with Scar. Until this Saturday.
I expect a war.
It's going to feel better than normally beating Scar if we win, and it will hurt more than it normally does losing to Scar if we lose.
But that's what a great rivalry SHOULD be. Just hasn't...until this Saturday.

Agree with everything but the 2022 game also had playoff implications…for us…if we would have won we would have been in, paybacks on the menu for Saturday!

Which is why this game is a bigger and more important. You lose to Scar, you may punch their ticket to their first ever CFP appearance.
2022 Scar win got them in a Gator Bowl instead of a Mayonnaise Bowl.
Stakes are much higher this year.

I love intangibles, and the intangibles about this game, is South Carolina has already overachieved for their season. They’re beating their chest like they slayed the dragon. I would say Clemson fans and hopefully the team feels like there’s a lot of unfinished business for this season. If Clemson does not make the playoff, or the ACC championship game, I would feel the season was a disappointment, again…

It is nice to see the rivalry actually mean something for a change (looking at you Scar) but not buying the playoff hype. Clemson has a very slim chance IF there is some chaos. The coots have no shot. Way too many 3 loss teams that would seem to be ahead of them.
