I dont get how the NCAA thinks this is good for college football….
I’ve been trying to live with it and accept it (and I have no choice), but it’s ruining the sport……
I can’t stand seeing kids leave and go with no consequences, its promoting a quitting mentality, and in the long run its just all about money..
Sad to see something i look forward to enjoying being destroyed before my eyes…..

I love it. It’s American freedom and free market capitalism at it’s finest. College football is finally catching up with the real world. If a man is unhappy with his current situation, he has the freedom to make the change and work to find a better situation.

Even American free market capitalism has guard rails and regulations. Checkout how big the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) are.

The portal has regulations as well. There are limits on when players can transfer and a penalty of not playing when transferring to much. Players still can’t just come and go at will. They just have more freedom to make change than they did in the past.

I like the idea if you transfer you have to sit out a whole year and then the teams in the conference should be able to keep the player from going to another team in the same conference.

I like that idea. Have a sort of “non-compete clause” like many businesses require key employees to sign to prevent them from being scalped by their competitors.

That's a dumb view. We already HAVE that. It's called the NFL. It's like trying to make South Carolina the same as NY or California. Stop. Move there quit trying to change this. The reason college football is better than the NFL is precisely because it's different. Because there are ties to the college, a family atmosphere, consistency, etc. Right now all of that is disconnecting.

Here is the deal. I was told in my business that learn the rules and make a living within in it. It is what is. Just use it for your advantage. Can’t change the rules so Clemson needs to make a living in. I think dabo gets it. Otherwise he would be gone. Just wait. Next 3 years will be epic.

I agree with you but I think every athlete on the team should receive the same amount of money as everyone else no matter their position or playing time. Make it 10000 a year for everyone and get rid of this ridiculous system we have now. I’m not a socialist either so don’t bother calling me one. They are getting a free education also that costs most people thousands of dollars.

Don't like but it is reality now. Time for the Tigers to get serious about using it and not just for clipboard QB's and outbound traffic. The most recent OL "offer" is intriguing but as of now, we're still stuck in reverse.

You can thank The Supreme Court justice, Brett Kavanaugh.
He implied that the football players are employees of the NCAA The NCAA controls so much of the players lives with transfers and such.
And now the NCAA is scared to death. They open the portal so they could try to distance themselves from the implications of Justice Kavanaugh
