Quoting somebody else here:

"ND is contractually obligated to join the ACC if they indeed join a conference. This runs thru 2037. I’m sure if the Big Ten elects to pay the buyout they could do that, but it makes this a lot less likely anytime in the next few years."

Yeah, I remember that being tossed around when they joined in all the other sports. As time progressed it made me think they signed a contingent GOR.

ND has a nice NBC deal. Also they don't have to share revenue from post season play. The Big 10 split 46 million which is about 2.5 million per school. ND on the other hand keeps rhe whole 20 million they received. Unless they just seriously fall off or NBC wants to not renew their deal, they make more being independent.

I get the sentiment from an emotional POV, but we lose $4M per year if they leave. We also lose a premium game every few years which we desperately need given the state of ACC football. My heart says kick them to the curb, but my head says it would not be a good idea.

Did we sign the GOR with the understanding that ND would be playing games within the ACC...in every sport and sometimes in football?

If we did...and ND leaves...I think we need to reevaluate our GOR...

I have searched the internet and nothing about ND joining a conference.

But, if they ever do, it will be the BIG.
