I Don't Get Too Excited About Commits These Days

Based upon the current landscape of sports being all about money, I'm not too excited just yet. Also, I like to wait and see what they can produce for Clemson before I cast my vote of approval. I'm reminded of some young man named Josh Belk who came to Clemson, and everyone raved about him in the offseason, but he totally turned out to be a lazy individual. Well, he transferred, and the same story happened there. While I admire everyone's enthusiasm, I'm never sold on any of these guys until they actually take the field and perform.

Our country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any America because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.

I have had the same experience with women, she may be hot on the outside, but lots of trouble everywhere else.

On a serious note, I still get excited because I love recruiting part of it all. However, these days less and less. Players often disappoint or just don’t have the drive and determination. Watching DJU in high school, I anticipated more National championships, we know how that went.

As always, thanks for your service and sacrifice!

At least we are in the conversation for now. Most programs don't even get this far. If we can land several top prospects, we are good to go.

I loved the championship runs we just recently enjoyed only to be disappointed with the DJ years.

I never expected they could miss so poorly on a highly coveted QB recruit.

Everything good has its challenges. We seemed to have burst through on the other side no worse for the wear.

It's not the recruits that have me feeling we are returning to our old selves , it's the play on the field. Our offense is finally pulling their weight and with Tom Allen in the fold , there is a certain feeling of old that we will return to the teams of old with a nasty defense. I am admittedly excited about our future and I doubt I'll be disappointed. But if I am , I've learned to roll with the punches and still be as supportive as always. Because without such support from our fan base , failure becomes the norm.

There is also the new wrinkle of facing teams we ordinarily never see. Texas last year for example. Think of the possibilities.

The best is yet to come
