Nobody said they are street fighters, thugs etc. All these things Dawn Staley made up in her mind and tried to make it a racist loss. Jeeze, she is horrible. I respected her as a coach but she lost all respect after her last interview. She can pound sand continue to make USCoots the laughing stock.
The Iowa coach said rebounding against Coots was like a street fight because their big girls are brutal when you have 6'5" and 6'7" rebounding against 6' girls. But let Dawn turn her loss into a racial thing. Screw her!!!!

I see it as her protecting her players. She’s brought some things on her team, like not standing for the anthem at one point. And that combined with their physical domination, some have turned into her team being thugs, etc. In the interview she also talked about her kids being prepared for life after basketball, so even though they lost, things are still good for them. Exactly what Dabo says repeatedly.

All good, someone else have a TD on purpose. Dawn is a racist and some will find offensive but her comments after losing to a better team are very racist and Iowa deserves better!

and wanting to stand up for her players, but it came across as being overly sensitive. She acted like a victim and seemed to default to the race card.
Perhaps I missed something, but who called her players street fighters or monkeys? She singled out national sportswriters, so surely there is an article or tweet that she was responding to. Right?!?

The Iowa coach said that rebounding against that group was like being in a street fight. Basically saying you had to fight for every rebound that USC was that good and physical.
DS turned that onto some racial slur that they were called street fighters. She made up everything else. She came up with the monkeys and color of shin comments all by herself to make her and team sound like victims,,,, victims of her own racist manufacturing. Screw her negative views, trying to spin the narrative!

this is nothing more than sour grapes on getting their a$$ beat and anyone can see that. It took a record setting hurculean effort by a great player and a very good team to beat the cockettes and she cant even acknowledge that and offer her congratulations. If i was a coach of a basketball team, be it men or women's, black, white, or whatever, and you said trying to rebound against my team was like being in a bar fight, then i would take it as a huge compliment. Shoot, I would probably coach my team to rebound like they were in a bar fight. Staley tarnished a great game for the players with this far reaching hyper/sensitive BS.

Good call and scree Dawn Staley. I actually thought she was good coach and wanted her to leave coots. But then her first Natty she declined offer to visit Whitehouse because Trump was president. She didn't give her girls s chance to visit the capital or meet the prez even if 2-3 girls wanted to. At that point, she could go suck on avacados and retire for all I care. Racist and pushed her views doen the throat of her players. Screw Dawn Staley
