My wife and I are treating my in laws to dinner at Calhoun Corners and I just used my dinner fork to eat my salad.
To make matters worse, my wife told which fork to use but the dinner fork looked liked a better choice.

The chefs always appreciate someone with a palate for commercial steak sauces.

I asked for ketchup. Add flavor to a 12oz filet.

You should immediately fire your etiquette coach. They never had the right experience to begin with. Man up and stop hiring your wife’s relatives…

And turn your phone off while out to eat. Ignoring your guests while texting us is just plain rude. Also, take your ballcap off while sitting at the dinner table.
Another reason to turn off your phone is that others dining out don’t want to hear it ring or listen to your loud, boasting mouth while trying to enjoy their meal and their night out.
Come to think of it, it might be a good idea if you just eat at home and spare the rest of us.

There are several good books available that shows you the proper etiquette for situation like this.
I have one written by one of the Vanderbilt ladies that’s especially good.
Hopefully you didn’t lick your plate to finish the meal. I’ve actually seen this happen.

No. When in Rome I do the right thing. Home. 1 fork. My dog licks the plate and goes back in the cabinet.

Thank you for the suggestion! Living on the mill hill in Easley, one didn’t get many fine dining experiences.
I used to dream what must of have been like to go to the Southerner or Blacks. I did pick up a few tips at Pete’s.

I can’t take any more bad news this weekend. My Tigers lost and now you’re using the wrong fork.
Did you not practice the fundaments of tableware etiquette in the Spring ?

Still my fav after 40+ years!
If course there’s Pixie & Bill’s (steaks) where he paid her off in divorce to continue to use her cute memorable name..or was it the other way!

I used to work personal security for a man who was on Forbes top 100. He are his entire meal with his dinner fork. He was a trip. He would tell waiters in 5star restaurants " leave the pitcher on the table.". They would look like they were about to have a heart attack.

No such thing as a 5 Star restaurant. The Michelin guide only goes up to three. I eat regularly at Michelin restaurants for work (not a big fan), but I've never had anyone look askance at me for a request there (As they say, customer is always right in terms of taste). I've only had ######### at fake fine dining make comments.

Whatever star, they were expensive. The waiters did not usually look like the customer was always right.

So you're saying that even though your coach instructed you to do one thing, you (on your own) made the decision to take another option. You might be QB2 material.

How is Calhoun Corners? From what I see, it's not what I consider fine dining, but the food looks decent. I haven't had good she crab soup in a long time.
