Tiger fan question of the day +1
Apr 9, 2019, 9:24 AM
|
|
Way to bring the board back to a relevant topic.
On a side note, though, this reminds me of the "public perception of Coot football" topic. I am sure Coot football asks this question every year. Does Clemson hoops=SCAR football?

Small but no less important to point out.

Speaking of being outspent. There are some programs that use private charters to fly their team to games and tournaments. I saw that UCLA is just starting to do that this next season. Do we do that or do we still go commercial?

Each game in the NCAA tournament pays roughly $275,000 to each team. Take the total number of games an ACC team participated in and multiply that by $275,000. Then divide by 15 which is the number of teams in the ACC. That number is Clemson’s Cut.
Note: If two ACC played each other, the conference gets $550,000 for that game.

Clemson has averaged receiving $1.47M for the previous 6 tournaments we didn’t make before 2018. The year we went we actually lost money because of travel expenses. Seems the NCAA pays travel expenses and a per diem for the first 75 people in the group but we took about 125 people to the 3 games so expenses exceeded reimbursement for the year we made it. Ole Brad knew it was more profitable to play two home games in the NIT instead of making the dance - just another way he’s two steps ahead of the TNet bunch.

That just reinforces my argument that Coach B should be the A.D. and that other guy is the one who should be fired, for making some really boneheaded contract decisions.
