In the last 4 games (excluding Citadel), we’ve averaged 21 points per game:
USC 14 pts L
Pitt 24 pts W
Va Tech 24 pts W
Louisville 21 pts L
We were rolling in the 5 games prior to that, averaging 45 points per game:
UVA 48 pts W
Wake 49 pts W
FSU 29 pts W
Stanford 40 pts W
NC State 59 pts W
What changed? Hopefully we can get back to mid-season form.

We will score more than what we have been averaging the last few games. Why? Because SMU is going to put up some points and we will be forced to be aggressive on offense to outscore SMU. There won’t be any going conservative this game.

Score a lot of points. We will have to open our playbook be aggressive and score a lot of points or we lose. We will not win if we score 14 points only.

I feel like we started getting conservative in playcalling when the points started dropping. The typical phenomenon we all all know well around here as "playing to not lose" rather than "playing to win". Hopefully with all the chips on the table Garrett and Dabo will let the offense run more like the 2 minute drill rather than the 2 yards and a cloud of dust we have seen in the last few outings

Agree 100%. When we’ve gotten leads, we get conservative to let the defense hold it. Once we lose the lead, we get aggressive again. Hopefully we can get up and add to the lead Saturday.

We should be able to score at least 30, but we've been notorious for leaving points on the table. You can't get inside your opponents 25 3 times in a game and come away with 0. Finishing drives will be key as always.
