away with pulling a kicker off the street for a so-called “elite” CFB program and get the result we got yesterday?? Most would be fired. I get it —Dabo’s earned his lifetime contract but crap like this begs the question as to whether he’s lost the fire in his belly to win. And then to call the WORST possible play design on 3rd and one with the game on the line—the cursed bubble screen—it’s almost like Dabo gave us the middle finger and said “heck it’s never worked before but y’all watch this” . If he doesn’t care, then why should we? I applaud Dabo for making the change at OC but let’s be honest it was two years late. We can see Cade getting better each game that’s encouraging but outside of Brown, Stellato and Williams who is he going to throw to? They don’t use Briningstool enough IMO.
The season is already over I just hope guys don’t check out in Syracuse while high school JV-level coaches like Goodwin, Conn and Hall run a supremely talented defense into the ground or worst case, transfer out.

would get fired. What he did was no different than going to the portal. Our kicker, who beat out all competition, has unexpectedly hit a slump. We went out and got a replacement.
Regarding Wes, after 3 games we are #8 in the country in yards allowed at 246.7/per game and we just held the #4 team in the country to 22 yards on the ground and 311 total. If Venables had those numbers this season we’d be nominating him for another award.

You forgot the part where our other kicker transferred to UNCheat because Dabo wouldn’t send him to a kicking camp

We have the #3 kicker from the 2022 class on the roster. If we had signed two top D-1 kickers, Tnet would have lost their minds over Dabo’s lack of roster management ability.

Go watch the interview with Cade, he takes full responsibility for the 3rd and 1 screen pass. He should have handed the ball off but he himself choose the screen pass because of what he saw on defense. Dabo did not call that play an neither did Riley.

Don't let facts get in the way of someone trying to blame Dabo for every mistake that a player makes. Cade changed the play, as you have said, and it was a mistake that young QBs make.

Either Dabo or Riley DID make that call. The play call was an RPO. Cade had the option to pass if he thought it to be the best choice. He admitted that he made the wrong call in not making the smart choice and instead tried to get cute.
The root cause of Cade's bone-headed choice of the pass was giving him the option to pass in the first place and that error was due to the play call by either Dabo or Riley. Dabo admitted that they should have locked down the run play and not given Cade the option to throw it.
The last 2 plays should have been pure runs - either RB counter/dives or QB sneak/power.
