3 TD loss is worse than 3 point loss. The better question is how is Tennessee ahead of Clemson? Tennessee got boatraced in both their losses.

I don't understand how they're ranked ahead of Tennessee when the vols have the head to head win over them and the LSU annihilation while Bama lost to LSU?

Its because our wins are not very impressive. In season rankings mean nothing. Looking at the end of season rankings look at the teams we beat and where they ended up.

Bama beat #20 (by 1 point without their starting QB and with a dinged up backup) and #22. Clemson beat #13 and #23 AND won their conference tournament. Tell me again how Bama's wins are more impressive? Bama's ranked higher for 2 reasons (name and closer losses).
