How I see BB summed up and simplified

I saw so many games where the tigers resorted to 3’s. That implies the inability to make adjustments. The easy way out if you will. Adjustments were lacking. Granted teams did seam to shoot better against the tigers than other opponents. It just seems that when he has no answers he pushes the team to throw up 3’s and that is disturbing. I an no expert by any means and this is simply a fans observation

I’m sure a lot of people noticed the reliance on the 3 point shot. Exciting basketball when the 3’s are going in. There was little to no adjustments when they weren’t. What got me the most was the lack of rebounding skills BB team’s have. Of course zero offensive rebounds when all the players are running back the second a shot goes up. Maybe coach wants them to be back for defensive, but why against a team like UVA that’s probably going to wait on you before they run their offense. Maybe it’s the players skill level, but lack of adjustments are obvious.

team than against other opponents, could it be that your team is not playing good perimeter defense?
Nah, that would imply that Brad Brownell is a poor defensive coach, in addition to being a poor offensive coach, and we know THAT could not be true.
Or....could it?

The proverbial straw that broke the camel's back for me was the ACC tournament when Brownlee couldn't adjust vs. UVA.........instead of switching to a zone defense, he went with the same gameplan that got him whipped the first time. The 1st-round loss in the NIT to the #16 seed merely confirmed my opinion.

That was only a #8 seed we lost to in the NIT opener. That tournament only allows 32 teams in and is thus far more selective than the NCAA with its 68 entries.

This has been an ongoing problem for years. What's odd to me is will rely on the three even when we don't have players who could shoot above 30%. It's almost like raising a white flag. Clear proof that Brownell gets outcoached, and simply does not know how to counter what other teams are doing defensively

I have noted in the tournament games that these elite teams have an attacking offense wherein they are driving to the basket with the intention of scoring (and rebounding,) not with the intention of dishing back for a 3. To me it is clear we do not have a coach or players that can compete at this level. We need a new enthusiastic coach with an attacking mindset who can recruit at a high level. Out with the old.

Raise your hand if you think we had a true post player who could dominate inside? Unless teams have a player or players with great skills, today's game is a game of who plays the best defense, gets rebounds and shoots 3's the best. All coaches design their offenses around the strengths of their players.

Or so they would have us believe.
I'm sure things will be quite different in year 14.
