Been up scouting Oklahoma

Oklahoma have a 1 2 punch in perine and mixon coming out the back field. Baker mayfield is fast and can keep the play going by using his legs to either run for a 1st down are get his receivers open. If our defense can shut down the run and contain the qb we should be fine. The linebackers and secondary cannot bite on the read option. Everybody must stay home and contain. The dline have to play gap and sound football in order for us to get this W. The key to beating Oklahoma is to shut down baker mayfield. If we can keep him in the pocket these sooners will loose. The sooners bread and butter is for the rb's and qb to gain chunks of yards on the ground to keep the defense guessing so they can take the big play down field. Clemson is #7 in total defense and oklahoma haven't played a top 10 defense all year. These tigers is a different breed. My early prediction 38-27 Go Tigers!!!!

In a sports related forum. Face it, the reason the majority of people read or post in these message boards is because they are trying to gain or share some insight into the team. Right or wrong, like it or not, that's what the OP did.
Can you honestly say that you have never posted your analytical thoughts about an upcoming opponent?

Don't respond to the Coot trolls , it only serves to make them feel important ...and their boss at the Dollar General can't get his shelves stocked with them all walking around like they own the place .

Truth is. They're a tough outing. But we can win. UNC was tough so was FSU and ND. But I think we're better. GO TIGERS!!!!

When you run through OU's opponents they have faced very very few Top 25 defenses and very few Top 50 defenses.
Clemson will be hands down absolute best D that the Sooners have faced. TCU would be a far away second .
What is that saying about Defense and Championships?

Maybe the Big12 has some very good offenses, and those offenses skew the stats for the defenses in the league. (OU plays 9 league games.)

Completely different styles. Perine is a bruising 230 LB downhill runner who likes to hit the hole and go.
Their change of pace back, Mixon, is more like Cook with the ability to move laterally and make quick cuts to elude defenders.

Perine will be a good warmup for Henry.
I'm not really worried about their rbs. It's Mayfield's ability to extend plays with his feet, and the zone read that worries me a bit. We have to play diciplined, but we have aggressive guys like Kearse and Boulware who struggle with that at times.

Agreed they are different. Cook is much harder to contain. I compare Perine and Mixon more to Hood and Logan from UNC. We did a pretty good job of containing them. Except for a few busted plays. Hopefully the defense will be rested and since they have had longer to study OU be ready. Go Tigers!!

Two keys
1. Shut Perine down 2. Shut Shepherd down
We did BOTH last year. So.....
Go Tigers!!

Our defense is going to have to smash this OU offense in the mouth early
