How can the CUPD release

Sammy's SSN for everyone to see?
Is an arrest warrant public information? I don't know how that stuff works, but that's just wrong IMO. You don't release a kid's SSN, cell phone number, and address to the public.
I'm not going to provide the link, but just received an email from a gamecock buddy. They're posting it over on some of their boards.
That officer should be fired immediately.

Hopefully you're referring to the arrest report, not a warrant.
I have a copy of what was briefly put up here, and I can't see through the black out at all.
Maybe it's just the copy I have, though.

His SSN is blacked out on all of the copies received from the CUPD. Due to the Freedom of Information Act, the CUPD must furnish a copy to media outlets, but they did black out all personal information.

I just spoke with an attorney and was told that the arrest warrant is public once served. However, the SS# should be redacted.

If they released any personal information at all, they're screwed. I've to redact all information when I request information. I did not see the release, but no numbers, addresses, ssn's, nada can be released when it comes to PII, personal identifable information.

That is good for a new number change free of charge. Just tell the provider what has happen.

I think they tried to redact it (it was blacked out), but they should have redacted it more.
Note to CUPD, time to buy new sharpies...
