How can anyone blame a coach for running a dual threat QB?

Nov 15, 2014, 7:20 PM

That is part of what makes DW4 special. That is a main reason why he was recruited. That is a big part of why Clemson's offense has been so special since Chad Morris arrived.

Did you see the injury happen? It was non-contact. Which means it was inevitable. It might have happened in practice next week if not in this game. Might have happened next Spring.

This isn't the NFL. QB's all over the nation run more frequently than DW4. Let's hope he comes back stronger and hope to see him run the ball effectively again whenever he is cleared to play again.

You don't. I agree. BUT . . the facts seem to be he can't last doing this. So . . . we may need another QB

Not when you have nothing at QB when he gets hurt. He can also pass.

It was non-contact. What if rolled out on a pass and had same injury? It was inevitable given what we saw when it happened.

If he had been hurt throwing the ball the question would remain

'Why would you have a qb throwing the ball when he runs so well?'

I think there's different ways of running the QB...

Auburn, for instance, always has guys running towards open spaces. Running your QB that way would be no problem as he can either slide or just run out of bounds.
Our offense, on the other hand, always seems to have the ball carrier running towards the largest, angriest member of the defense... sometimes towards several of them in fact.

Running the QB isn't necessarily the problem, HOW Chad chooses to run them(the functional equivalent of a fullback or power I back) is.

no way it's Morris' fault he got hurt

Nov 15, 2014, 7:36 PM

I just think the lack of a run game in general doesn't do Cole any favors when DW goes down

Remember how close we were to getting Gurley? Would have made things a bit easier.

We have to do better recruiting RB and OL. Looks like OL class will be good this year, but I have heard that tune before. Hope Dye gets a chance to show what he can do and the new recruits for 2015 can pick it up.

Non-contact is irrelevant

Nov 15, 2014, 7:38 PM

it doesn't mean it would have eventually happened. The fact of the matter is, he hurt his knee making a move on a designed run.
