Lack of catchy nickname holds our rivalry back

on a national scale. They are listing great rivalry games on espn and mentioned crap games like the Civil War and the Egg Bowl just because they have catchy names. our rivalry with SC is much better and intense. Maybe one sided this year but throughout the years its been one of the more intense rivalries around.
Palmetto Bowl just doesn't cut it nationally.

This would have been a great conversation to have 100 years ago.

Inventing a "cool name" now would be lame.

but this is much better rivalry than "clean old fashioned hate" Georgia has like 6 rivals.
Clemson/SC is one of the few rivalries around the country where each team considers the other their biggest rival by far

LOL so true
I thought Palmetto Bowl would be good. But maybe not. Crazy that the rivalry and our dominance doesn't get more recognition.

Holds it back from what?

I mean, it gets attention. The Egg Bowl may get mention b/c of the name, but that doesn't really garner the actual game much attention - just b/c the phrase gets rattled off. The media has gotten enamored in recent years with the monikers and trophies, but how much have you heard about the "Egg Bowl" or the "Civil War" through the years, except for when one of the teams was good, or when a talking head was getting kicks out of just saying the nickname. Other than that - not much, really.

Like Dabo said ...this isn't a rivalry , it's more of a domination . We should call it the " Pay The Rent " bowl .

there are other rivalries that are more lopsided

like UGA dominates GT more than we dominate SC.
Texas used to dominate A&M more (although that one didnt have a name either)

Need for coots to get good again and in the top 5,

could be a long wait.
If, they become good again in 5, 6, or 7 years, the Palmetto Bowl could take off with ESPN selling it, but we'd have to have a few top 5 matchups.

has nothing to do with a catchy nickname.....has everything to do with the lack of competition.....67 - 42 - 4 can not be called a rivalry game......Go Tigers!!!!!

Chickens arent holding up their end. Their lackluster football history is the main factor our rivalry doesnt garner more attention.
Frankly, I couldnt be happier with their lack of success. May we add to it tomorrow night.
