Hoping Cades confidence isn’t broken

Hasn’t really gotten a lot of PT and I think that GT game could’ve been the worst thing to happen because we all saw the flashes but GT had given it in at that point. Definitely has happy feet but know he’s got a shot to be special. DJ is without a doubt our best shot this year just hope the growing pains don’t affect him to badly. Especially with seeing how amazing Deshaun and Trevor were as freshman.

Just what bs would that be? The fact that DJ is the better qb right now? DJ put in the work this off season and it shows. If Cade wants to play he will put in the work and get better. I thought Cade would take DJs job personally but I am glad to admit that I was wrong. I couldn't be happier with the way Dj has played this year. Man also has a sick cut that left some dudes rubbing their ankles last night.

You underestimate Cade's drive to succeed at Clemson.

Speaking of transfering, have you considered it? I hear a lot of spots just opened up on the chicken's bandwagon.
They are already in midseason form with their chants. Say it with me, "WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR"

Cade's confidence will not be broken

There's always growing pains with freshmen even TL16 and DW4. And Cade will not be broken by a couple of series. That said, Clemson coaches have a shown a predisposition to play conservatively & cautiously which can stunt QB development. Two points: 1) The first three games are irrelevant. Practice games. Clemson is 3-0. So is Duke. So is Syracuse. The real season starts next week in Winston-Salem. 2) DJ's accuracy in the pocket has improved, and he was really accurate when he does not have to move around. DJ's running confidence has also improved, though he is still slow.

It’d help to let him run with the 1s.

Cade is a baller too, no worries…

He just needs to breath deep and focus when out there. He seems like he is rushing things unnecessarily. If we can get the in between of him and DJ, it would be perfecto. DJ is still a little too slow on decisions and getting the ball to the receivers at times, but improved for sure. Keep getting Cade some live action and the game will slow down for him. He needs to be run early when put into the game just to settle him down. Get the adrenaline out.

In my honest opinion DJ would have looked spectacular last night if some of those WRs would have caught balls that hit them in the hands. Some of those throws he made were amazing and the WRs let them hit the ground. There was a lot of DPI not called last night. The Randall throw in the end zone was one of the worst no calls I have seen since the Miami/OSU fiasco 20 years ago. That DB never looked for the ball. Randall came back to the ball with one arm and still no call. Then they call that ticky tack call on Fred Davis later in the game when they didn't call the one on the LaTech DB earlier. If you're going to let them play, let them play. Don't be selective on what is deemed DPI.

Cade was frustrated but he will be fine. Kid puts a lot of pressure on himself because he is a competitor. i would like to see him run a few series with the first team. Hard to evaluate what he can do in garbage time with the backups. The way they played yesterday with the lead is a little concerning.
DJ is playing much better and is the clear cut starter right now. Glad to see that.
Cade is not going anywhere is reference to the transfer comment above.

If his confidence is broken at this point then he was never meant to be a starting QB at a major program.

He should be confident the way he scrambled and had the speed to get around the end. That will help immensely when the line is having a problem. Few QBs have that kind of speed. I remember the way TL ran against OSU. CK was thought of mainly as a passer by the experts after high school. He is showing exceptional speed and running ability. His passing ability has never been doubted. DJ is our QB, but if he is injured, CK will present a difficult to defend presence.

He might be faster then Deshaun and I know he’s faster then TLAW. Can definitely see him breaking a couple of TDs out of the read option, once he settles in and gets rid of the happy feet he will be just fine.

One other play that brings up another point. He can scramble like few can. That was enlightening. Remember that play?

My confidence is broken with these WRs that have been here 2+ years. It makes no sense how these older WRs can't catch the ball when it hits them in the dang hands or chest. DJ is out there balling in some instances and we are behind the sticks because a WR doesn't help his QB out and make the catch.

I’ve given up on some of the older guys. With Collins, Williams and Randall coming on i think the future is bright.
Allen and Briningstool are also good. This group could be a tough matchup later this year.
