Baseball field upgrade needed.

In my opinion the Clemson and two paws makes it look kinda cheap, and they need to add dirt between home base and first, and home base and third.

You're fighting a huge up-hill battle with that post.

Lots of fields have grass going down the basepaths. It is actually trending that way in terms of what everyone is using. One of the reasons why is that the field drains better with grass down the lines. With dirt down the baselines your day is done if you get a considerable amount of rain.
Not so much for major colleges because they have field tarps and grounds crew, but more so for smaller colleges and high schools.

Jack agrees with you. They are going to replace the

entire playing surface after the season. The outfield is very uneven and doesn't drain well. The turf behind homeplate is wore out and will be replaced with field turf. The overall playing surf is in bad shape according to Jack.

I like the field overall but I would replace that area

around home plate with real grass.
it never looks neat or clean with the plastic grass
I know why they do it, it just doens't look good to me, it looks sorta cheap
the stadium looks great and those outfield seats look great, maybe one day they can add outfield seats to the right field area
and
can anyone go out to right field and buy food they are cooking out there or who do they cook for out there

There are plans to renovate the field after the season...

and I'm hoping that when they do, they'll replace the turf around home plate with field turf like the practice field and have the "Clemson" and the paws made out of orange turf instead of having to paint them. Everything in the Indoor Practice Facility is field turf (even the Tiger Paw at midfield and the yard lines and hash marks) and I hope they'll do the same thing at Doug Kingsmore. I don't see them getting rid of the grass basepaths, that's one of the unique features of the field and I don't see that changing.

Coach Wilhelm told me the reason they have the grass basepaths is because he liked to bunt and the ball had agreater tendency to remain in play with grass.

Yup, it's already in the plans. As far as I know, they're going to keep the basic features, like the hill instead of the warning track, but they may move home plate out about 5 feet. That plus Jack's campaign to get a new baseball could add some of the excitement back to the game.
