Here’s a novel idea - why not scrap the halftime concert show ?

A) Parents shouldn’t have to turn the tv off so their kids aren’t exposed to this crap
B) NFL take some ownership! You suspend Deshaun Watson for what he did, but then “wash your hands” while you have been objectifying women on super bowl halftime shows for 20 years.

that would kill ratings. probably half the people watching are only tuned in for commercials and halftime show.
This one wasnt that bad. I mean Janet Jacksons titty was out about 20 years ago.

It’s like they are trying too hard now, but they have to be careful because if they go too far someone will be offended.

Novel? The last Super Bowl I watched was in 2001, but...

your objectifying part, as if what's her name isn't empowered, is hilarious.
+1 for the jocularity.

Philosophical question:
Feb 13, 2023, 9:36 AM
|
|
If you’d do anything for money or to be talked about, are you truly empowered?
Just because you have the illusion of choice, doesn’t mean you are really empowered.
She’s got to keep doing that crap to stay relevant to a bunch of teenagers (and apparently a bunch of tigernet members that missed out on their malcontent youths)

Direct answer, it's exactly what the word means, and...
1
Feb 13, 2023, 9:51 AM
|
|
now you want to disempower her, or suggest she's incapable of making a rational/reasonable choice of her own, because she's some how encumbered?
The only thing encumbered here is your thinking. Novel idea and where this all started; don't watch if you do not like, that's your empowered choice.

But you didn’t answer my question directly.
I see an aging rock/pop star desperately grasping to the fickle approval of hoards of vapid teenagers (and apparently a bunch of t-netters that missed out of their malcontent youths)
Having a crap ton of money or grabbing this or that in front of a billion people doesn’t make you empowered.

Also, it's absurd the lengths some will go, you here, in disparaging the woman by suggesting she's not intelligent or powerful enough to make these choices on her own.
Poor, dear thing, she know what not what she do?
That is patently stupid considering you entrenched this in objectifying women and now throw her under the bus?
She is empowered, she made an empowered choice and this isn't about anyone, save the $1.5+ billionaire.

If you believe she is "objectifying" other women by being empowered, that seems a very serious shortcoming on your part and these other women.
It's really one of the great wonders of the world when women attack empowered women, even denigrate them, because they don't like choices they've made.
Good luck with that.

Wow. Deshaun paid millions in hush money and legal fees and he would not have done that if he had done nothing. The Super Bowl is just what the name says and the half time show is part of it and the show last night was exceptional.

about lawsuits and just because he paid "victims" does NOT mean he was guilty. The smart play is always to just make it go away by paying people. Its a sad fact of our justice system.

Five hour pregame is a bit much. Why are we still talking Tom Brady? Really self serving in some spots.
Lift every voice and sing was done well.
Baby face. I didn’t quite get the rendition.
Chris Stapleton was superb, one of the best I’ve heard.
If anyone even had the slightest idea what it takes to be a fighter pilot they would have given them more respect. They are fighter pilots. Regardless of gender they have to pass the test. Even the easiest things they are put through would have most of us pizzing ourselves.
No question the field was bad. Just don’t paint it. For TV it can be superimposed. If you were there it wouldn’t make a difference.
Rihanna was herself, no surprise, the platform lifts were cool. The color balance was red, red, red. Most of the time just a bright red splotch.
I liked the Blue Moon, Busch Lite, commercial. If you take an EV into the wilderness maybe you should also take along a generator and five gallons of gasoline.
Allowing a record setting punt return, fumbling the ball, and letting a crippled QB run a thirty yarder up the middle lost the game for the Eaglets. Not a bad call.

NFL has ruined the Super Bowl
Feb 14, 2023, 8:12 AM
|
|
....for sure.
American pop-culture is sick, and the NFL is pimpin' it out during their halftime shows.
Admittedly, I only watched part of the 3rd and 4th quarters of this year's game. My wife and I were busy not caring enough to turn on the game until late, so thankfully we missed the halftime "spectacle" altogether.
