Puts things in perspective. He said that he was so emotional for what the team went through, but sounds like he used "the team" in lieu of "we" - meaning his family. Obviously, he's an OSU guy, but I always found him to be pretty objective - as have the OSU fans who basically ran him out of Ohio because he would criticize the Bucknuts on air.

For those who don't like to read articles - in the last year:
* His wife has cancer
* His dog died
* His son has dealt with a heart condition (2 years ago)

Seems like he also felt Ryan Day's frustration with losing to UM and having people calling for his head on a silver platter. Don't know if he had anything similar happen in his playing days.

Just the fact that he has a dog accompanying him now to all of his games/jobs kinda shows that there is some emotional fragility there that is fairly recent (my opinion).

I like the guy. He's not perfect - nobody is. But I enjoy listening to him call games.

Don’t know if he redshirted but for the four years I can see from 89-92, tOSU was 0-3-1 against Michigan. The tie was 92 when Kirk was a starter. 13-13

He's just not a very sympathetic figure given the life he lives, and the lifestyle the life he lives affords him. Makin' millions to talk football.

I'm not sure why so many seem to dislike the guy. He has been super complimentary of us, has had not one. but two Sons on the teams a d always been fair and objective. His comments a couple of weeks ago about Southern Schools/Clemson was pretty accurate if you pause your feelings and orange blinders to be objective. To quote a gentleman I tend to often agree with "Facts don't care about your feelings." Go Tigers!
