Wish me luck!!
Unreal, had to go to a booth with no light at all over a 20 yr old computer with a mouse that needed caps or dots to be made by pressing an another key I think.
Last time I used a mouse was around this same on this same computer 8 years ago!
Even my 5 year degree from Clemson was no help at all (told them back in 1959 that I didn’t need Zoology to get ahead in life!)..
plus I had to do an eye test (it was so easy thank goodness that a blind rat would have passed) and the new pic was better than 8 years ago only b/c they allowed me to smile this time and show off my purchased choppers!
Saying, I passed and will be out & about driving in your neighborhood and on SC, NC, Ga & FL roads soon!
You have been forewarned!
LOL~
Go TiGERS..Jeep Rocking & Driving!
PS: had my eye test papers with me that were still good by 5 days for the 2 year limit but they wouldn’t accept and said I’d have to wait for optometrist office to email or fax over documents..so I reluctantly took the eye test.

when i was 35.. even though the dr said i had 20/20 vision. Something about the lights or something blurred the letters.
I had to get a Dr's note and bring it to the DMV.

SC just started their vision test back in 2020. For years you didn't have to be able to see to drive in SC, lol,
Glad I got mine renewed in 2019 but I got new glasses last year so I'm good to go now.

Dont know where you get your SC licensee renewed, but I have had to take a vision test every time I got mine renewed since I first got it in 1959???

They stopped it around 2016 for renewals with the exceptions of new drivers obtaining their first license and commercial drivers. I think this was to stream line and improve wait times at the DMV.
It was reinstated in fall of 2020 for all renewals where you have to have a doctor exam filed electronically or come into the DMV and take an eye exam.

Just got my real license and had to take the eye test. Since my cataract operations I can see fine without glasses, but the machine in Berea is so dilapidated, you can barely see the letters, even with glasses. I did manage to pass with my glasses, but pretty pitiful eye test.

You can have your optometrist submit the exam number to the DMV and avoid those shenanigans.

Agreed. They have some smart a##es working at the DMV. My elderly mom was renewing hers and the young male DMV employee kept turning around and joking and trying to be cute with a young female co-worker while my mother was reading the lines. He kept confusing her on which line to read. He smartly looked at her and said she would just have to go the eye doctor to get approval. She went and there was nothing wrong with her eyes and the Dr gave her approval immediately.
