He went to Wofford College on the GI BILL. Married a girl from Winthrop, not his fault.
And had me !

then he went to UNC Graduate school (why I will never know} became a coach, coached me (I was never much).
Then went to his first game at DEATH Valley in 1976 maybe, no more like 1966.

No words console but I'll say this. I lost my dad unexpectedly when I was 19. He was 36. That was 43 years ago and I still spend time with him in my dreams. I wakeup crying, not that he's gone but from the joy of spending a little time with him even if it's just a dream.
I weep with you, my friend.

So sorry for your loss. My father was also a tiger through-and-through and married a Winthrop girl. Unfortunately, he passed away 27 years ago. Despite the passage of time, I still miss him very much.
When our family was picking out his headstone, we were told we could choose any type of "symbol" to honor my dad. Yes...we custom-ordered a Tiger Paw...and I guarantee you he was pleased with our choice.
May you take comfort in fond memories of you father.
